What will happen if the riser is not closed up?
Often there are situations when the space around the riser simply does not close up, especially if the bathroom has a wall sheathing with plastic or other material. However, in this case, be sure that you will always be aware of all the events that occur in your neighbors, you will hear all the conversations and sounds. The same applies to odors, that is, if your neighbor smokes, then your family will inhale nicotine along with it. How to do it right?
Many immediately come up with the idea of filling up the entire space with cement mortar. The idea is not the best, if you have a metal riser, then it will be scratched, which means it will corrode. In the case of a plastic model, the pipe can crack at all, and this entails big and unpleasant consequences.
It is best to protect the pipe from kapron, old tights are ideally suited for this, it is enough to wrap the pipe with them, then fix the foam polyethylene on top. After this, you can close the resulting hole with a cement-sand mixture, preferably with the addition of alabaster. The latter is in many ways more convenient, otherwise it is called building gypsum, this material will allow you to finish your work much faster.
For breeding alabaster it is better to use an old plastic container, after work it will just have to be thrown out. It is recommended to make a more liquid mixture, so it will be more convenient for you to fill it into space. For filling, you can use old plaster or fragments of bricks.
In order to prevent any voids in the filled hole, after pouring, be sure to pierce the mixture into several places, the solution will be distributed as evenly as possible, this will ensure high-quality adhesion material. The surface must be thoroughly smoothed out, it usually takes three days to completely dry, after which the space can be painted in the color of the floor.
