Around the middle of the picking season for many, they are already pretty annoying. They make various salads, snacks, preservation for the winter. However, when there are a lot of vegetables and you don’t know what to do with them, you can keep them fresh until October and even in November, in these late autumn months, you can still enjoy fresh and crisp cucumbers.

How to choose cucumbers
In order for vegetables to be stored for a long time and not spoiled, great importance is attached to their correct choice. First of all, it should be strong cucumbers of the correct form with a dense skin and without damage. For long-term storage, vegetables are laid immediately after their collection; they should not be stored in a refrigerator or any other place even for about a day.

Be sure to take into account the characteristics of vegetables, some varieties are simply not intended for long-term storage.
They should not be washed, otherwise they will quickly deteriorate. If the cucumbers are still wet, for example, you collected them in the early morning or after the rain, then each of them is wiped with a paper towel, they must be dry.
Place and storage method
It will all depend on the period for which you are going to save the cucumbers. If you choose a refrigerator as a storage place, then there they lie, depending on the chosen method, from a week to two. If they just lie in an open package - then a week of storage is provided, if it lies on it a damp cloth - 10 days, but remember, the bag should not be tied, it must be received by the vegetables air. If each cucumber is wrapped in a paper towel - then at least 2 weeks.

You can also store vegetables in an ordinary cardboard box, but then do it better in a cool and dry place, it can be a garage or a cellar.

Storage for more than a month
There is one secret that many summer residents and gardeners are actively using. Table vinegar is poured onto the bottom of the basin or deep bowl (preferably a larger size), enough to cover the bottom. Next, the lattice is laid in a bowl, and already on it gently cucumbers, which should not touch vinegar. From above, all this is covered with a large lid or bowl, the storage temperature should be about 10 degrees, it can be a balcony or a cellar.

The methods are completely simple, they do not require any special skills and adaptations, but they are distinguished by good efficiency.
