Reverse osmosis technology is the most advanced filtration system. Only water molecules can penetrate the membranes installed in filters of this type. Microorganisms and mineral salts are removed without residue. Moreover, such systems can saturate water with beneficial substances.

However, they also have certain disadvantages. About ten liters of water will need to be skipped to get one liter of clean liquid. In addition, a pressure of at least four atmospheres must be present in the water supply.
