Why there is no effect from noise insulation of doors

Most often, the problem lies not in the door itself, but in the isolation of the places where the door frame adjoins the wall. To check this, you will have to remove the platband (decorative strips that are mounted on the wall and door frame). Carefully remove the straps and inspect the joints. With poor-quality installation, there will be gaps or loosely foamed space. By the way, in addition to sound, these places cause heat loss. We bring the insulation to fullness, carefully filling all the voids with the selected material. We install platbands on the jamb.

Sealing rubber

Sound can also penetrate inside the apartment if the sealant does not fit snugly against the canvas. In order to eliminate this defect, you need to buy a new gum in the right amount (sold in any hardware store). Remove the old seal, degrease the surface and stick on a new rubber band. When buying, it is important to choose the material of the desired thickness, but not too thick. Excessive size will not allow the canvas to fit and the lock cannot be closed.

Door leaf

If the previous defects are easy to correct, then in a situation where the sound passes through the canvas, everything is much more complicated. If the door structure can be opened, the canvas is removed from the hinges, the inner wall is carefully dismantled and the presence or integrity of the sound insulation material is checked. In this case, most likely to fix the old wall back will not work, so you should purchase plywood to replace it.

If the door cannot be disassembled, then a wooden beam and transverse slats 40 mm thick are mounted on the inside along the perimeter. Soundproofing material is laid inside.
