Simple door adjustments that not everyone knows

The operation of the front door directly depends on the frequency of preventive maintenance. In order for the canvas to open and close normally, it is necessary to adjust the loops in time, which are the basis of this process. In addition, with periodic inspection and lubrication, you can get rid of problems such as squeaks, drafts or broken locks.

Regular loop adjustment

Ordinary door hinges are easiest to process, as they will last much longer.

First you need to inspect them and determine whether they are welded or held on bolts. In the second case, the fasteners are unscrewed and the rusty ones replaced with new ones. If the hinges do not need to be replaced, you can treat the desired places with WD-40 mortar without removing the door. To do this, the door leaf is slightly raised with a crowbar.

If the washer became unusable, it must be removed and the hole treated with grease. After a new one is installed, it is necessary to choose fasteners from hard alloys of metals of a larger diameter.

In order to further simplify the processing of loops, you can drill a hole from above, into which you can fill in the lubricant without first unwinding and lifting.

The loop core is treated with lithol, which has a thick and viscous consistency. After all work, it is necessary to check the door for suitability. If it does not creak and closes tightly, then everything is done correctly.

Adjustment of internal loops

Adjustment of internal loops has its own characteristics. The design of such elements is considered more reliable than the classic version, so to get to the mechanism you need to know the correct sequence.

To begin with, the hinge moves to the right or left, it all depends on which way the door closes. After the upper and lower bolts are loosened, the central one remains stationary. All manipulations are carried out manually. For work, a hexagon of 4 mm is suitable. Each bolt rotates 180 degrees counterclockwise in turn.

After that, loosen the internal bolts that are visible from above. Next, access to the central bolt is opened, the density of the door slamming depends on how tightly it is twisted. By adjusting the outer screws, you can change the position of the blade to a higher or lower one.

For lubrication, machine oil is used, which is poured into the loops after blowing and a vacuum cleaner.

Adjustment of hinges with bearing

If it is necessary to raise the door, then tighten the upper screw. In order to lubricate the hinge mechanism with a bearing, it is necessary to completely unscrew the screw and treat the insides with a thick and viscous oil composition.
