Types of underfloor heating
Electric underfloor heating - used to heat the room under: tiles, laminate and linoleum. It can be either an autonomous or an additional heating system. Heat in this case is regulated by a temperature regulator. The minimum floor height is up to 7 centimeters.
There are 3 types of electric floor:
- Rod (flexible rods containing silver and carbon);
- Cable (a heating element is a cable that converts electricity to heat);
- Film (made on the basis of a multilayer polymer film). This type of underfloor heating appeared in 2010 and is quite popular due to the savings in money and effort spent on installation.



Water floor
Coatings with which it is compatible: ceramic tiles, linoleum, laminate, parquet. For water heating, it is customary to install plastic pipes up to 20 millimeters in diameter. A boiler serves as a source of water supply with heating. Heating of the heat carrier should not exceed 50 degrees. This underfloor heating is installed around the entire perimeter of the room. The system cannot be used as a stand-alone heating device, it is exclusively optional. Water heat is regulated by sensors on the boiler. The minimum floor lift is 15 centimeters. The main disadvantages are the complexity of the work, as well as their high cost.

Useful properties of underfloor heating
- Warm air rising up creates an obstacle for drafts, and is also an ideal condition for children's games;
- Uniform distribution of heat throughout the volume of the room, due to which there are no convection flows;
- It does not cause allergies, in comparison with radiator heating;
- The heating bill will decrease by an average of 30 percent (with individual heating of the room);
- With proper installation, the service life of the underfloor heating is 50 years. That is why it is better to entrust the work to professionals;
- Installation does not require specialized equipment. Faults are easy to fix.

Is it worth it to install a warm floor?
Depends on available cash resources. Installation of a warm floor will cost about 1,500 rubles per square meter.
Also, all furniture should have high legs or other supports in order to be higher than the floor, for free circulation of air (heat). You need to know that the installation of water floors in the apartment requires special permission, and also has its own technical difficulties.
