9 familiar things that many people keep in vain in the kitchen

Many of us have items in the kitchen that we, one might say, do not use at all and we do not know why we store them - but what if they come in handy. But in most cases, they remain on shelves or in drawers. Some of them accumulate dust on surfaces (and we breathe it), others should be thrown away, so as not to endanger themselves and their loved ones (for example, expired household chemicals).

In any case, it's time to say goodbye to them - to make room for something more useful, pleasant and practical.

Bread maker (slow cooker)

Once upon a time, bread makers were megapopular. What was not cooked in them: Easter cakes, muffins, bread, buns. But when loved ones are fed up with homemade cakes, the device immediately goes to the far shelf. In addition, in many families it was noted that with the purchase of a bread machine, extra pounds somehow strangely appear, but for some reason they do not disappear anywhere. Of course, homemade bread is so tasty that you want to eat it all the time - hence the weight gain. Over time, they forget about the appliance, preferring a faster way to get baked goods - just go to the store and buy what you need, and not understand the features of the test for different types baking.

Almost the same can be said about the multicooker. Yes, many families cook in it every day, especially when there is no time to do something on the stove, but most of us have both devices languishing in the back of cabinets.

Analyze how many times you have used a bread maker or multicooker in the last year. If this is just a couple of times, then it is better to present the technique to a friend / mother / grandmother / sister, where they will definitely find a use for it. The same applies to other devices that are stored somewhere in the back cabinet for years and only collect dust.

Souvenir mugs

Very often we receive mugs as a gift - as a souvenir from distant countries, as a gratitude or a comic present, and just as a sign of attention. Products may contain cool inscriptions, photographs, interesting drawings. And they all go to the shelf, cluttering up such valuable space.

Of course, if you constantly drink tea or coffee from them, then you don't need to touch them, but when most of them are not used for their intended purpose, then they should disappear. In no case should you run to the trash can. It is enough to neatly pack them in a box, wrap them in newspaper, and fold them somewhere on the balcony / in the closet. And it is better to leave the vacant shelf for the mugs that you use often and every day.

Old and spare utensils

Let's be honest: sometimes we are so sorry to part with the plates and bowls, which seem to be nothing, but we will definitely not use them for some inexplicable reason. So we store them, creating whole mountains of utensils in the kitchen set.

And there are two options here. Either you are Plyushkin, who neatly and purposefully creates whole "collection" collections of colored plates and cups at home, or you admit that everything has long gone out of your control and take urgent measures, namely, you go through all the utensils and boldly say goodbye to the fact that you already not necessary.

First of all, deal with cracked and rusted dishes: they definitely don't belong in your kitchen!

Additional spices and cereals

Very often, when we come to a store and see products for promotions, the question immediately arises in our head: “A do I have buckwheat / flour / rice / black peppercorns / bay leaf? " (in fact, you can enumerate endlessly). And then we find the answer: “Yes, I’ll take it, let it be!”. And then we return home, and what do we see... In the closet there are already two packs of rice, three packs of pasta, a whole can of lavrushka and several packets of the same spices. And all of them were also bought under the pretext "maybe it will come in handy."

In order not to store extra packs and not to clutter the shelves with them, always revise the products. Excess cereals and spices are not the best solution, even if you want total savings. Often all this lies for months (or even years), bugs / midges start up there, and we somehow take it all to the trash can. Not a very efficient economy, is it?

Old textiles

Take a close look at the look of your kitchen towels? Holes - in the trash, faded - say goodbye, in spots - immediately throw out. Make it a habit to use only good, clean textiles. We only live once, so we can afford to buy a towel.

Don't want to throw it away? Use it for the floor, in the garage, give it to an animal shelter in the end - they will definitely find a use there, and they will be grateful to you for the rest of your life!

Pile of cutlery

In general, a cutlery drawer should contain one set containing the minimum required number of spoons, forks and knives. If you are constantly presented with additional products or you are unable to refuse to buy new ones, then do not litter the section with new devices. Fold them separately, and take them out only if absolutely necessary (for example, with the arrival of guests).

Expired (or expired) products

There is even nothing to explain and comment on. This is just a sacrilegious waste of space in the closet, and also a threat to health. An audit should be carried out not only in cereals, canned food and spices, but also in the refrigerator.

Excess shoulder blades and ladles

How many wooden shovels, ladles and slotted spoon do you need to be happy? Something suggests that one maximum is enough. Moreover, we do not use them every day. Be sure to remove unnecessary products, leave only those that are necessary for comfortable cooking.

Unnecessary cleaning products

In the kitchen, we often store household chemicals that we need to clean surfaces from grease, carbon deposits, washing dishes and other important tasks. Be sure to look into storage areas and conduct an analysis. After all, many of the funds could be bought in reserve or in some kind of spontaneous impulse, but in the end they were not useful. It is likely that their expiration date is long overdue. You cannot leave them at home, this can lead to rather sad consequences. First, someone will take it by mistake and use it. Secondly, even through tightly closed bottles, hazardous substances can be eroded, which pollute the air and cause coughs, runny nose, skin rashes and other not very pleasant consequences.
