How to remove dried and old stains

If you use the wrong baking dishes, traces of dough, sugar, jam, jam, fat and other products may remain on the walls. You need to remove them immediately. Otherwise, it will not work at all to wash the walls of the silicone.

Do not scrub food residues with a hard brush or scrape off with a knife!

If, after cooking, small particles of baking remain on the form, then they can be cleaned with ordinary soda, after soaking the dishes in warm water. But if the pollution is old, stubborn, then a more effective remedy is needed here.

Lemon acid

Quite a simple and affordable way, because all the ingredients for cleaning can be found at home. You will need:

  • large bowl;
  • 3 liters of warm water;
  • 20-30 grams of citric acid.

The bowl must be sized to fit the silicone mold completely. You can also take a large saucepan. Citric acid is diluted in water and burnt dishes are immersed in the liquid for 15-20 minutes. Then the silicone is wiped with a soft sponge, washed well and dried.

Lemon and soda

Previously, the baking dish is placed in boiling water for about 20 minutes. Prepare a mixture: the juice of one lemon is mixed with 30 grams of soda to make a thick paste. The composition is applied to problem areas and left for 15 minutes. Then the dirt is wiped off with a sponge or soft brush and rinsed well.

This method works best with burnt jam or fat.

Water, soda and dish gel

Dissolve 20 ml of dishwashing detergent and 50 g of soda in 2 liters of water. Place a silicone mold in the prepared composition. The pan is sent to the stove and the liquid is brought to a boil. After 7 minutes, turn off the fire and leave the dishes in water for another half hour. Then the mold is slightly cleaned with a sponge and rinsed with running water.

How to get rid of a strong odor

Silicone dishes are quite strong and durable, they will not break if dropped, absolutely safe for health. But sometimes you can smell an unpleasant odor from silicone - the result of improper care. If stains, grease and carbon deposits are not cleaned in time, then over time they are the ones that provoke amber. There are several ways to get rid of the unpleasant odor:

  1. Activated carbon. These tablets are an effective adsorbent that will both cleanse and remove rancid odors. It needs to be crushed into powder, mixed with a small amount of water and rubbed with silicone molds.
  2. Dilute the vinegar solution in water in a 1: 1 ratio. Dampen the sponge and wipe down the surfaces. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash off with plain water.
  3. Potato. The medium potato is grated and the dishes are treated with this gruel.
  4. Spread the coffee grounds over the entire surface of the silicone mold and let sit for 30-40 minutes. Then rinse with water.
  5. To get rid of the unpleasant odor, 30 g of mustard powder should be mixed with 400 ml of warm water. Pour the resulting solution into a mold and leave for 30-40 minutes. After that, you just need to rinse with clean water and dry.

How to remove small dirt around the edges

Typically, silicone molds are not greased before use because they are already coated with a non-stick compound. However, in some cases, dough marks may remain on the edges of the pans. No need to clean the entire product. It is enough to make a paste of baking soda and gently rub the edges of the mold with it. But this is only effective if you notice contamination after cooking, when the stuck food is still fresh. Otherwise, you still have to soak the form.

Care rules

In order for the silicone dishes to serve for a long time, and the food in it does not burn, it must be properly looked after:

  • Immediately after purchase, the product must be washed and treated with oil. Subsequent lubrication is not necessary if the mold is made of quality silicone.
  • After each use, the container must be rinsed to remove all crumbs, remnants of dough, jam, sugar, preserves.
  • When cleaning silicone, it is strictly forbidden to use coarse brushes, abrasive dishwashing detergents, hard sponges, or sharp objects.
  • To prevent the appearance of mold on the surface of the silicone, the mold must be dried well, and even better - wiped with a dry cloth.
  • Store products in a closed place, as the material quickly absorbs dust.
