I don't always like American films and TV shows, but what they are always great at is in a beautiful picture, thought out to the smallest detail. And I don't know about you, but if the plot ceases to interest me, I still look further. But I’m not following the plot, but looking at the interiors. All these decorative little things: vases, rags, lamps and so on, and so on... And of course, it can't help but come up with the thought "oh, if I wish so ..." But really, is it possible to create an American kitchen gloss in Russian realities?

In search of information, I rummaged through more than one hundred Google pictures, and after admiring it, I immediately rushed to share my observations with you. Something caught my eye even from the time of watching films, but something demanded a thoughtful examination. In the end, we got the top main features, of which I counted six pieces.
The first difference: the island
It is in modest Russian kitchens that it is customary to press all the furniture against the walls so that there is where to turn around. American kitchens originally meant a lot of room not only for imagination, but also for movement. And in this vastness one could easily drown if it were not for the saving island in the center (and sometimes not one).

Reference! The most common option is a massive cabinet, which not only provides additional work space, but also allows you to store a lot of all sorts of small things, but more on that later.
It can be a classic version - a large dining table for many people, but it should also be massive and monolithic. And if space permits, the Americans can deliver as many as two islands.

Can't place an island? Let there be a peninsula! The bar counter may well cope with this.. Anything to divide the space! The American interior loves it very much. The kitchen can be combined not only with the dining room, but also with the corridor and with the living room.
Advice! In Russia, such a layout can be done in a studio apartment. However, do not forget to take care of a high-quality hood so that the curtains in the living room do not smell like cutlets.
The second difference: storage
No glass sideboards! The more hidden the better! Yes, that's exactly the motto of American cuisines. Therefore, there are so many different drawers and lockers here.

No one is interested in cellophane bags with cereals and unwashed carrots. Do not be afraid that in this way the kitchen will lose its colorful appearance - no one has canceled the decorative art.
But there is also an important detail here: the whole decor should be not only beautiful, but also practical. A minimum of dust-collecting figurines and empty vases - the maximum of actually used and at the same time aesthetically pleasing utensils.

You can hang a set of unusual spoons or knives on the wall. You can put a basket with real fruits in the center of the island (only, of course, it would be better to have time to eat them before they go bad). You can buy cute jars and cloth bags for spices. Anything, if only it was beautiful and useful. It could even be the legendary red plastic cups.
The third difference: facades with a panel
This difference speaks for itself, the only caveat: everything should be within the framework of reasonable minimalism. Less carved decorations and painting - more smooth matte surfaces.

The fourth difference: the sink by the window
And from it comes another "subdifference" - the need for a large window. And it's better not just one, so that there is as much natural light as possible.

Why exactly a sink and exactly by the window? Who knows, maybe it came from some curious housewife who loves to spy on neighbors while washing dishes... In any case, it looks definitely stylish.
How is it done
The outer side of the kitchen was decorated, everything a little aesthetically pleasing was hidden, what's next? And then we will try again to open all the lockers and see what is inside, what it consists of and how it is made.
The fifth difference: wood
Of course, in combination with the high-tech style, you can use both plastic and stainless steel, but still wood has always been and remains a classic option, moreover, the higher the quality, the better. You can save on decorative trinkets in the future, but initially monitor the quality of the material.

Reference! No chipboard, fiberboard and other terrible abbreviations! Only reliable, strong and durable plywood. The set made of it is guaranteed not to warp or swell at high humidity, and the paint applied to it will not peel off.
Difference six: installation
And it is significantly different. This is achieved precisely due to the peculiarities of plywood. It is drilled the first time and with maximum accuracy, since in the future it will not be possible to simply trim itby tightening or loosening the fasteners - it is too strong for this.
Therefore, it will be necessary to drill oblique holes, through which, after docking, the boxes are fastened together.

The maximally flat walls allow you to mount the cabinets directly to the wall, without additional accessories. Furniture is located along the walls, from floor to ceiling, without gaps and crevices.
As you can see, there are no special secrets in the American-style kitchen! So, if you wish, it is quite possible to transfer it to a Russian home!
