What is a hoe?

The hoe is also used for hilling and aerating the soil, creating holes for planting various crops, and filling furrows after planting seeds. The tool is used in some narrowly focused professions, for example, in coal mining.

What are the differences?

The difference between the devices is in appearance. The hoe is usually mounted on a long handle with a straight spade-shaped nozzle set at a right angle. It is used more often for loosening the soil and removing weeds.

Chopper is a broader concept that includes many varieties of tools, including a hoe. In the classical sense, the chopper looks like a trapezoidal plate fixed on a long or short handle.
