When the E1 error appeared in the dishwasher, we can say for sure that this is due to a leak, a clogged drain system, or a malfunction of the sensor. How to accurately determine the cause and what needs to be done to repair, is described in this article.

Reasons for the appearance
If the dishwasher shows error E1, this means that the leak sensor has tripped. It determines whether there is water in the pan located below or not. The sensor is one of the elements of the Aqua-stop system. It is specially equipped to start the drain pump if necessary. It will pump water until the sensor determines that there is no liquid, and the threat of flooding has already been eliminated.
Therefore, if the Hans dishwasher found an E1 error, this could indicate 5 possible reasons:
- A leak has begun - most often the liquid appears at the junctions of the hoses. Elements such as a drain or recirculation pump may also be affected. Less commonly, problems are associated with the tank. Due to the special design of the pipe through which water is supplied, the liquid, even in the event of a leak, enters the pan from below, as a result of which the sensor is triggered. At the same time, the feed valve is blocked automatically using the “aqua-stop” system.
- Less often, the Kerting dishwasher issues an e1 error due to a breakdown of the sensor itself. Over time, it may fail or freeze, being closed. As a result, the “aqua-stop” system will work, the machine will show that a leak has begun, although in fact it will not. The sensor needs to be repaired or replaced.
- There are also cases when the Krona dishwasher detects an e1 error due to contact problems. Those. the sensor itself is fully functional, but there are problems with the connection. They are observed due to oxidation, moisture ingress, burnout.
- Clogging of the filter that is installed in front of the intake valve, or the valve itself. Over time, they can suffer from food particles, dirt, wear out a little. As a rule, the repair comes down to the fact that each element is removed, cleaned and put back. If necessary, it is replaced with a new one.
- Finally, when the Krona dishwasher shows an e1 error, this can also be explained by a malfunction of the electronics, i.e. failure in the control module. It receives data from each sensor, processes them and, in the event of a malfunction, determines the error code. But sometimes this element can also break down and misdiagnose a breakdown. Typically, such cases are observed after sudden power surges in the network.
Is it possible to fix the error yourself
When the dishwasher showed an e1 error, determining the exact cause is not always easy. There are a few steps you need to follow as described below.
Blockage removal
Quite often, the cause of the error is associated with clogging of the filter and other elements. To verify this, it is necessary to sequentially dismantle and inspect them, and if necessary, rinse them under water. You should act like this:
- Turn off the car and turn off the tap on the water supply. Even if the “aqua-stop” system works, it is better not to take risks and prevent possible flooding.
- Disconnect the water intake hose.
- Inspect it and the mesh for blockages, if necessary, rinse under a tap.
- Then open the hopper door and remove the basket from below.
- The drain filter is dismantled (it is enough just to unscrew it), they are also washed under pressure.
- Then unscrew the screws around the perimeter of the filter attachment point.
- Pull out the flap and remove it.
- It is necessary to check the impeller and eliminate blockages.
Leak repair
If the Krona dishwasher showed an error e3 or e1, it may turn out that water has already entered the pan. To prevent flooding, act as follows:
- Turn off the car and turn off the faucet.
- The desired panel is removed (for example, in the case of the Hansa dishwasher, it is located on the left).
- Dismantle the tube with air that goes to the sensor.
- Drain the water from the pan and determine the location of the leak. It is not always easy to do this on your own - if you could not find a specific source, it is better to contact the master. The machine itself is disconnected from the water supply during operation so that the water supply tap can be opened again.
Replacing Wiring or Sensor
If after that the dishwasher gives an error e1, it is necessary to “ring” with a multimeter each element of the electrical circuit going to the sensor. After finding the place of the break, it is eliminated, the contacts, if necessary, are cleaned or replaced with new ones. If this does not help, then the reason is related to the sensor. It is in a closed position and detects the presence of a leak, which in fact is not. Such an element cannot be repaired - it is necessary to install a new part.
Control module failure
It also happens that Kron dishwasher error codes appear again. If this is due, for example, to a power surge, you must unplug the unit from the socket, wait 15 minutes and turn it on again.
If it does not help, you will need to diagnose the control module. Some of the contacts in it could oxidize or burn out - then you will have to determine the location of the malfunction, solder the tracks, or completely change the board. Such repairs can only be carried out if you have the appropriate experience.
If the Teka dishwasher showed an E1 error, first of all it is worth turning it off and turning off the tap. Then they inspect the bottom pan and, if water appears, determine the source of the leak. It is important to make sure that the cause of the error is diagnosed correctly. If in doubt, it is better to contact the master.
