Preparing to start the chainsaw

Before making the first start, it is necessary to check the condition of all parts. It is forbidden to use the tool without making sure that it is in good working order. Start by preparing the fuel. Gasoline must have an octane rating of at least 90. The most suitable one is AI-92. Otherwise, low-quality fuel will have a negative effect on the engine. You will also need two-stroke oil. It is recommended to purchase one suitable for a specific chainsaw model.

The ratio of components for the mixture is prescribed in the instructions. On average, the proportions are 1:33.

Fuel can be leaded or unleaded. The first is used for tools whose engine is not equipped with a catalyst.

Then refueling takes place. The mixture is best prepared in a metal container. Start by adding oil, then gasoline is poured into it and brought to homogeneity. The resulting composition is poured into the gas tank carefully so that the mixture does not get on the body. The lid is tightly closed.

Ready fuel is stored for a maximum of a month. Then the oxidation process begins.

Chain tension needs to be checked. To do this, it is pulled in the middle of the tire. If the tails of the links remain in the grooves for at least 2/3 of the length, then the elements are installed correctly. The movement of the chain along the bars should not be difficult. It is also necessary to prevent excessive tension on the part. To do this, it is enough to rotate the chain manually on the bar. If there is no sensation of strong tension, the rotation is normal, then the installation is correct.

Then proceed to install the hand brake. It is located in front of the body of the instrument. The lever must be pushed forward so that the chain does not start rotating after starting. In order for the product to start moving, the hand brake is returned to the reverse position. Before starting the model, it is put on the brake.

It is also important to fix the product on a flat surface. This will allow him not to twitch when the engine is started.

How to start a chainsaw: sequence of actions

It was noted that the surface on which the device is installed must be flat. But you also need to make sure that the tire does not come into contact with the ground.

Startup sequence:

1. The chain brake is disengaged.
2. To turn on the ignition, use a special button or switch.
3. The damper that supplies air is moved to the closed position. To fix the lever in such an intermediate form, it is pulled out.
4. The front handle is taken with the left hand and pressed down a little. The right handle has a protective shield. It should be stepped on.
5. With your free hand, pull the handle towards you. It is recommended to act slowly. As soon as the pawls of the mechanism engage with the clutch of the drum, you need to make a sharp jerk.
6. When the first flash appears, the air damper returns to its previous position. Run the tool again.

When the engine has started, you can add gas and release the lever that is responsible for the throttle.

Possible startup problems

Even if all the start rules are followed, the chainsaw may not start. This occurs due to several problems. If there is no spark in the spark plug, it must either be dried or completely replaced.

When there are difficulties with the supply of fuel to the filter, it is enough to blow out the fuel hose or filter. If this does not help, the parts should be replaced with new ones.

Also, the air or fuel filter may become clogged. High quality cleaning required.
