A hoe is the main tool of every summer resident. This is an indispensable device for controlling weeds and loosening the soil. The design is extremely simple, but the gardener knows that he cannot do without it. As a rule, several types of devices are stored in a barn or utility unit: from classic models to special ones.

What types of garden hoes are there?

This is the primary tool that homeowners acquire. It solves a number of problems that periodically and quite often arise when caring for the territory:

• removing weeds from the beds;
• weeding;
• loosening the soil;
• removing unnecessary roots;
• hilling of plants;
• preparing and sealing furrows when planting seeds.

Modern models sold in specialized stores have an electric drive. This allows aeration and harrowing to be carried out without much effort.

Classification of choppers

There are many varieties of the device and all of them differ shape, size, weight and other parameters. For example, depending on the configuration of the blade, there are:

1. Rectangular. The appearance of the bracket completely repeats the smooth walls of the figure. Only the short side is sharpened.
2. Trapezoidal. The metal part is wide and shaped like the designated geometric figure. The blade is located along the bottom edge of the product.
3. Triangular. The bracket is made in the shape of an isosceles triangle with sharply sharpened opposite blades.
4. Arc-shaped. The cutting part is semicircular, fixed to metal holders.

Based on materials, hoes can be made from stainless, carbon or tool steel. The handle is often made of wood, but sometimes, to reduce the weight of the structure, it is made of aluminum or fiberglass.

Miniature hand choppers often have a rubberized surface for ease of use.

Types of hoes

There are several main varieties tool:

1. Sadovaya. A long handle and a wide blade characterize this device. It is located at a right angle relative to the handle. The main purpose is weeding and uprooting grass from the beds.
2. Sapka. Designed to remove ingrown weeds and unnecessary roots. Characterized by a semicircular, pointed blade. Some gardeners prefer to call such a device a hoe.
3. Hoe. A miniature tool that has a small shovel and a comfortable handle with a rubberized surface. Convenient to work on limited areas of land.
4. Double-sided chopper. A small hoe with two different shaped tips. For example, one side is a hoe, the other is a rake. A convenient device for working in flower beds, used when planting plants.
5. Ripper. A device where a trident is used instead of a shovel.

Separately, it is necessary to highlight the electric hoe. It operates either from the mains using a long wire or from a removable battery.
