Connect the induction hob to the network

network When it comes time to change an old cooker to a new, more modern appliance, the main problem you are facing is connecting. Correctly connect the induction panel in the same way as an electric stove. If you have never done this, then read the simple tips.

The installation of the plate is carried out in several stages, in this article we will look at each of them in detail.

  • Selection of the site and preparation of the hole for installation.
  • Cable connection and operation check.
  • Installing the surface on the countertop, its fastening and sealing.

Choosing a Location

The hob must be installed exactly, without distortions and secured with screws or other fastening devices. It is important to ensure sufficient ventilation space so that the panel does not overheat. It is not recommended to be placed above the dishwasher. There should be a gap of several centimeters between the rear wall of the induction panel and the nearest vertical surfaces; there should also be a small free space below.

Connection to the

network The main tool for direct connection will be a screwdriver. To connect an electrical appliance, you must purchase a three-conductor network cable designed for the power of your panel. Most often take the cable section of 4 or 6 mm square. Cable 6 mm square.more reliable and suitable for high-power panels with four burners. Choose a length that is free to reach the outlet. The kit usually comes with a cable with 4 wires, two of which are the phase( brown and black wires), one is zero( blue), and one is ground( yellow-green).

If you turn the induction panel upside down, you will see on its lower side a circuit extruded on metal or printed on paper and a small box in which the terminals for connecting the wires are hidden.

The following notation can be seen in the diagram:

  • L1, L2 - phase 1 and phase 2, respectively;
  • N - neutral wire;
  • PE - grounding.

This is a common European label, and it is easy to determine from what to connect. Please note that the hob can be connected to the 220-volt network and to the 400-volt network( the domestic network is 380 volts).

In the case of a single-phase network, there is a special jumper for connecting the two phases in the slab set, which is located near the outlet of the wire. It is taken out and inserted between the contacts of the phases. To connect a four-core cable to an access point with three leads, you need to twist the black and brown wires and connect them to the phase conductors of the network.

The power outlet, which will plug the cable, must be grounded, designed for a current of 25 amps and the power consumption of the hob. If the plug and socket do not match, then you need to replace one thing. Adapters and extension cords cannot be used.

You can connect the device directly to the meter on a separate line. This is even better, since additional switching is excluded.

Testing

As you can see, connecting the hob alone is not so difficult. When you have connected all the wires, you must turn on the device and check how it works. If everything was done correctly, you can insert an induction cooker into the hole, fix it and seal it. On the contrary, it is not recommended to do it, since when the device is fixed, it is inconvenient to perform manipulations with wires.
