What is the meaning of planting potatoes according to Mitlayder?

This method is characterized by narrow beds, which take up little space, but can provide a crop 15–25% higher than a vegetable garden planted in the traditional way. And under favorable weather conditions and good lighting, Mltlider's method will even help to double the harvest.

Planting potatoes according to Mitlayder has several significant advantages:

  1. With this method, soil loosening and hilling can be avoided.

  3. The landing area is significantly saved with a simultaneous increase in yield.
  4. The method makes it possible to grow potatoes on all types of soil, even the poorest.

Wide aisles allow plants to provide complete nutrition, plenty of sunlight and heat. As a result, they are actively developing, which favorably affects the yield. The big plus is that the technology can be used in all climatic zones with different soil types.

How to plant potatoes for a good harvest?

First you need to carefully select planting material. Tubers for planting are prepared as follows:

  • they need to be put in hot water( 50-60 degrees) for 15 minutes;
  • then hold for 5–10 minutes in a solution of copper sulfate or potassium permanganate;
  • to place for germination;
  • once a day, spray with an aqueous solution of superphosphate;
  • after the tubers germinate, they must be cut into pieces so that each seedling has a small piece of potato.

Small Tubers Mitlider does not recommend using for planting. Therefore, seed potatoes are selected from the highest quality root crops.

The process of planting potatoes includes the following steps:

  • , before planting potatoes, in order to have a good harvest, it is necessary to choose the most sunlit area and level it;
  • should carefully dig up the soil and clean it from perennial weeds and roots;
  • to lay out and form narrow, long beds. They are located from north to south, at a distance of 70-100 cm from each other. The recommended length of the bed is 9 m, width - 45 cm. As a result, maximum illumination of plants is ensured throughout the day. If the beds are located on a slope, they are formed by steps, in the form of terraces;
  • the soil in the beds must be well fertilized with specially designed formulations;
  • on the beds on both sides of the ground podgrebaetsya for the formation of the sides of a height of 10 cm. They help to preserve moisture in the beds and facilitate the fight against weeds;
  • further it is necessary to make holes for planting potatoes. They are dug in 2 rows, in compliance with chess order. The distance between the holes is 30 cm, the depth is 7–12 cm;
  • in the wells need to put 1 tbsp.lbiohumus, germinated potatoes, and covered with earth.

Rows are not digging, which also allows gardeners to facilitate their work. With the next landings, the rows and rows in places do not change.

What is potato mulching done for?

To protect the soil from the adverse effects of natural factors, after planting the beds it is recommended to cover with mulch. Mulching potatoes is a great way to protect young plants. Mulch well retains heat and moisture, promotes rapid growth of plants and is an obstacle to the spread of weeds.

In the cool period of the year, it is recommended to perform mulching with plastic wrap, and during warm time with organic materials.

Compost, tree bark, humus, chopped reeds and hay are most commonly used for mulching potatoes with natural substances. These materials have a beneficial effect on the structure of the soil and increase the amount of organic matter in it.

According to the Metlider method, high yields are guaranteed by balanced feeding and frequent watering.

American scientist offers 2 options for feeding mixtures:

  1. Composition No. 1: 40 g of boric acid and 5 kg of dolomite flour are mixed. Consumption composition - 100 g per 1m² beds.
  2. Composition No. 2: magnesium sulfate is mixed - 500 g, ammonium nitrate - 1400 g, ammophos - 600 g, molybdic acid - 5 g, boric acid - 5 g, potassium sulfate - 1100 g. Consumption of the composition - 50 g per 1 m².

During planting, beds are first fertilized with the first compound and then with the second. Further dressings are also carried out by these compositions.

Mitlider recommends 3 feedings throughout the summer. As mentioned above, the first mineral dressing is performed during planting. The second feeding is carried out when the plants grow to 15 cm, the third - before flowering.

Fertilizers are applied directly in the center of the bed, so as not to burn the root system of the plants.

Potato is planted in moist soil. And in order to further the fertilizers are well absorbed, the plants require frequent watering. It is advisable to water the potatoes every day and ensure that the earth does not dry out. Watering can be done manually or by drip. Manual watering is carried out using a hose with a moderate flow of water. The stream is directed under the root. This method allows for watering at any time of the day, even in the sun. Watering and fertilizing end after flowering.

Mitlider's method is quite simple and makes it possible to significantly reduce physical costs. To obtain a good harvest, it is enough to provide the plants with maximum illumination, systematically feed them and carefully monitor soil moisture.
