Initially, the refrigerator freezes, which means that freon can be leaked. The reason may be in the engine overheating (overheating protection is triggered) or in the thermal relay malfunction.
The engine may overheat if there is insufficient air circulation when the refrigerator is installed close to the wall or furniture. The motor body should be slightly warm.
A faulty thermal switch does not command the compressor to turn off when the required temperature is reached, which causes continuous continuous operation and again leads to overheating. The thermostat has nothing to do with if the door of the refrigerator is not tightly closed or the integrity of the seal is broken.
If the refrigerator system NoFrost, the reason may be that the evaporator fan is stopped due to frosting. This happens in case of malfunction of the evaporator forced defrost circuits.
