In order for the bath room to maintain and gain the necessary temperature level, specialized insulation material is used for its walls. Unfortunately, not all materials for this purpose are well suited. Some of them have a high level of hygroscopicity, which affects not only the deterioration of the insulation property, but also leads to self-destruction. Consider what types of materials exist for insulation of baths.
Often, in order to insulate the bath, its walls are sheathed with mineral wool. It is not prone to decay, holds the temperature well and is quite loyal in price. To achieve better containment of water vapor, the lining can be supplemented with expanded polystyrene, polystyrene or foam.
Vapor barrier can not only improve the efficiency of the entire layer, but also protect the walls from the putrefactive process.
For finishing work, it is important to divide the room into conventional zones: steam room, shower and dressing room. Each of them requires the use of an appropriate coating. For example, in a steam room it is good to use foil material, which reflects heat and creates the effect of a thermos. For a dressing room, it is better to choose kraft paper or other membrane insulation. For the shower, a simple film will be enough. Let's consider what qualities each of the listed types of casing has.
Polyethylene film is an affordable material, but short-lived. High temperatures after a short period of time lead to the destruction of its surface. For longer service life, it is better to choose a film thickness of at least 100 microns.
Kraft paper is rarely used in its pure form. Without a plastic layer, it is not able to withstand moisture. That is why it can be used exclusively for cladding dry rooms.
Foil mineral wool - a modern finish for vapor barrier, which has high thermal insulation qualities. Such material is excellent for insulating both the surface of the walls and the ceiling of the bath. Its most optimal thickness is 50 mm. This is quite enough to get the maximum effect.
If there is no opportunity to purchase foil-lined cotton wool, such analogues as foamed polyethylene, Izospan vapor barrier material or liquid rubber can be used to warm the bath.
