Among domestic consumers, linkcrust has not yet received wide distribution, since it only recently appeared on the market. For its manufacture, paper is used, on which a thin coating is applied based on vinyl chloride or linoxin mastic in combination with a filler, for example, wood flour. Special equipment extrudes a certain ornament on such a surface.
Lincrust can be stained with various compositions, including oil. Care of such canvases in this case is greatly facilitated, since they can be washed.
The process of sticking linkrust is not particularly complicated. However, it requires a significant investment of time, especially in comparison with some varieties of wallpaper. But in any case, the result is worth it.
For gluing linkrust the following materials will be required:
- Primer;
- Half-oil putty;
- Glue;
- Paint;
- Hot water (about 50 ° C).
From the tools you will need:
- Sharp knife;
- Skin;
- Ruler;
- Brush;
- Cord;
- A piece of chalk.
The process of sticking linkrust is usually a sequence of several steps.
At the first stage, surfaces are prepared for subsequent gluing with lincrust. The walls are leveled, and the skirting boards are dismantled. The treated surfaces are puttied, primed and dried well. Upon completion of the drying of the walls to give them greater strength, an additional layer of putty is applied to them. After the surfaces have dried, they are sanded and primed.
After completing all the work with the walls, you can begin to prepare linkrust. It is cut into pieces necessary for the length, taking into account the pattern on them, fragments of which must necessarily coincide. The cloths are twisted into rolls, after which they are soaked for about 10 minutes in hot water. When the material is completely saturated with liquid, it is left in this form for 8-10 hours. Linkrust during this time will become softer and wider.
At the next stage, using a sharp knife and a ruler on each canvas, the edge is cut. Wallpaper is then stacked for subsequent glue processing. With chalk and using a cord on the walls draw lines that will allow you to observe the geometry in the process of gluing paintings. The treated surfaces are covered with a small amount of glue, and then left for a short time. During this time, the composition will have time to soak a little into the walls. It is important that the glue is still wet before wallpapering.
Linkrust sheets are also coated with glue and left for a certain time. Impregnated with the composition of the wallpaper tightly pressed against the walls. When sticking the canvas, make sure that the fragments of the pattern coincide. Linkrost is glued joint-to-joint. After waiting for the glue to dry completely, which usually takes 7-10 days, evaluate the quality of work and eliminate possible shortcomings. For example, small cracks are closed with half-oil putty, and then cleaned with sandpaper.
Completely finished finish from linkrust can be painted with any composition you like.
