Fake flooring is a suspended type structure located above the surface of the main floor. It is adjustable and does not require special skills during installation. It is most often used in office premises and other commercial buildings, but is also acceptable in domestic conditions.
Installation of such a flooring allows you to hide under it the main communication and engineering systems, wires, cables and other elements. To get access to them, it is enough to remove a fragment of the raised floor, which takes a minimum period of time and does not require expensive tools.
Despite the positive qualities of the coating, in some cases it is worth abandoning its installation. That's because it has significant differences from standard linoleum, laminate or parquet.
Where do not need to mount a raised floor?
The fake floor is not suitable for arranging rooms in which heavy furniture sets or appliances are located. The coating will not be able to withstand a lot of pressure and will be damaged. This will spoil the visual appearance of the room and could cause damage to other property.
Also, a raised floor is not recommended for installation in large-scale office buildings with a large number of employees and visitors. This will create strong loads on it and lead to cracks, holes and chips.
It is categorically not recommended to install suspended flooring in warehouses, shopping centers, swimming pools, gyms and other public places or rooms in which, in addition to people, they can move around special equipment.
What is a raised floor?
The design consists of several complementary elements. The main part is a robust metal frame that is mounted directly above the main floor. The panels that create the flooring are mounted on metal fittings using auxiliary beams and racks.
The height between the raised floor and the main screed, which should be perfectly even, is adjusted with the help of special bolts that are securely fixed to the metal frame. You can change the height depending on the purpose of the premises and general requirements. Its indicators vary from a few centimeters to several meters. Criteria such as the strength of the frame, the length of the bolts and fasteners, their number and the material of manufacture directly depend on this.
