In order for such household appliances as a washing machine to please exceptionally correct operation, it is worth ensuring its proper installation and connection to all communications. In the matter of connecting the washing unit, even the smallest nuances are important - starting from the choice of a place, in which the electric appliance will be mounted up to the nuances of connecting the device to all necessary systems.

Choosing an installation location
If you live in an ordinary apartment, the layout of which is repeated in hundreds of thousands of houses, then there are not so many choice places for installing a typewriter. Even in country houses, washing machines are installed in "standard" places - in the bathroom, in the kitchen or in the toilet. The last option is suitable for units with a vertical type of loading. And in the kitchen, the washing machine is easy to disguise; on how to do this, read the article: “How to integrate a washing machine in the kitchen».
If you are afraid to break the harmony in interior design, then listen to the advice of modern designers - put the device in the hallway. This non-standard solution will help you rationally distribute useful space in the apartment, especially in the bathroom, which in modern apartments is rarely made more than a few square meters.
In this case, of course, the question immediately arises of how to connect the “corridor resident” to the communications remote from this place. Alas, you can’t do without pipe wiring alterations in this situation, and you will also need to get permission if you live in a high-rise building.
Choosing a place to install the unit, it is worth making sure that this unit of equipment is free access was provided, and all the cranes and communications were also easy to find in case of repair or revisions. Especially the last moment is important when installing the appliance under the sink on a foundation of tile or even concrete. If you use specially provided adjustable legs, you can set the machine in level, minimizing the level of vibration - this will remove the load from the main components of the device.
Preparation for installation
Cars are carefully packed before sale - this protects the devices from damage during transportation to the place of sale, and then to your home. At the factory, cars are packed in boxes, equipped with shock-absorbing inlays, polystyrene foam and film (also protects from scratches). The tank and drum of the machine are fixed using special transportation bolts. If you install the device yourself, then you will remove the bolts yourself - this is the most important preparatory work.
Before you make your final purchase decision, check to see if everything is included with it. necessary documents and, what is also important, a Russified manual (operation manual user). It is precisely in this instruction that it is written (and often painted) how to properly remove the transport bolts.
Manufacturers often even indicate the order of removal of the bolts - for your convenience, so that you do not miss a single one and remove all the bolts. It is important to remove all the bolts to one, because even with a pair of remaining fasteners, the machine will start to work noisily, and then it can quickly break down.
Important! The operation of the unit with transport bolts, which according to the instructions must be removed before operation, is a good reason for the owner of the machine to be deprived of warranty rights.
The kit comes with special plugs that require installation in places where there were fasteners.
How to connect the washing machine to the mains?
The washing machine is a serious and dangerous (in case of violation of the operating rules) electrical appliance, therefore, it requires mandatory grounding. The master will solve this issue in two ways, and as for the home craftsman, he should choose the most suitable connection option for himself.
- First you need to replace the standard 2-wire aluminum cable, using a 3-wire copper cable (zero, phase, ground) instead. You also need to install a socket according to the Euro standard, which provides grounding. It will not hurt if the outlet is waterproof, which will be especially true when installed in rooms with high humidity.
- There is an option to connect the device to the outlet of an electric stove - usually in such outlets, grounding is provided for by standards.
- Another difficult option is to connect a separate group directly on the dashboard, but this method requires skills and knowledge.

There are a couple of nuances that will make it possible to connect the “washer” yourself reliably and efficiently. You can provide maximum protection if you use a device such as an RCD (residual current device). When choosing an RCD, pay attention to the installation parameter, which should be at a level of no more than 30mA. As for the “pilots” and various extension cords that help to “increase” the cable length, it is better not to use these devices.
Some home craftsmen bypass the grounding by grounding, throwing a cord on heating or water pipes, but this method is not recommended.
We connect the washing machine to the water supply networks
Having reached the stage of connecting the unit to the water supply, it is worthwhile to understand that this stage must be performed as flawlessly as possible so that the machine works for many years without failures and breakdowns. The machine must be connected to the water supply using a hose specially provided for this purpose.
During installation, it is necessary to accurately measure the distance between the machine body and the cut-in point. Remember that the hose should not be stretched - ensure its free location between the pipes and the machine. Quite often, the hose turns out to be short and it’s not enough to connect its length - then you will have to buy another one that is suitable in size.
If connecting the hose to the appliance is not difficult, then connecting the hoses and the water supply is more a complex process, especially if there is no special crane that is provided in the system for such purposes. If there is a tap, you will only need an adapter to fit the threaded connections of the following elements: tap and hoses. All connections require a seal to prevent possible leaks.
If the water supply system is made in the form of a complex of metal pipes, then the tap will need to be embedded. To do this, you will have to buy a ball valve, which provides 2 outputs, you will also need a clamp.
The tap insertion process is as follows:
- Start by turning off the water supply;
- Choose a suitable place in which the insert will take place;
- Drill a hole in the selected pipe position;
- Place a bandage on the obtained hole using a sealant for its reliable installation;
- Next, screw in the tap;
- Connect the water intake hose to the tap.
Choosing ball valves, your choice should fall on the highest quality models - give your preference to brass valves.
If you decide to install in the toilet, then the best place for tapping the tap is the place where the drain tank hose is connected to the tank.
How to connect the "washer" to the sewer system
Having come to the stage of connecting the machine to the sewers, many do not burden themselves with this task and divert it to the bathtub, sink, sink or toilet bowl. This option is the simplest, but at the same time having a lot of significant minuses - the water in which you washed the laundry, muddy and dirty plumbing. In addition, the hose clamp that comes with the kit is not so reliable: it can slide off under strong water pressure, and normal washing will end in a “flood”.
As a temporary measure, such a connection is satisfactory, but for long-term operation it is worth connecting the unit to the sewer system by attaching a drain hose to the pipes. To crank up such an operation without the help of a wizard, you will need a special siphon. The siphon resembles an elbow with a bend, this element is usually plastic. This branch is the place to which you need to connect the drain hose.
As for the direct insert, it is absolutely unacceptable, because then the drain hose itself will act as a siphon, but because pressure dissonance, the air coming from the sewer pipes (and its smell is not quite pleasant) will get into the car, and from it - into the room.
Installation completion: important points
Even if you correctly connected the appliance to all three communications, it’s too early to calm down - the time for the first wash has not yet arrived. It is necessary to perform actions in a certain sequence to fully prepare the machine for work.
Level and level
Take the standard building level, install it on the body and adjust the position of the device by changing the height of the legs of the machine. If the legs are adjustable, everything is simple, but if not, use special linings or pieces of rubber. After a test wash, repeat the alignment during the spin cycle to minimize vibration.
We check the tightness of all connections
Leaks quickly make themselves felt at first, but it is better to play it safe and immediately check whether everything is tightly sealed. Having found leaky areas of the connections, turn off the tap and seal the connections using FUM tape or special gaskets.
Testing the washing “assistant”
The test will help you finally verify the correct execution of all installation steps. You will be able to evaluate the level of vibration and check whether the appliance is stable during washing and spinning, and whether the connections are tight.
You don’t need any laundry during the test wash - run the appliance idle in the “Cotton” mode. Pour the powder and rinse the rinse aid into the appropriate compartments / containers and start the washing process. Do not leave the machine - watch absolutely all the processes: a set of water, washing, spin and drain. The test phase will also help to find technical contaminants that could get into the system during assembly - they can subsequently stain the laundry, so they need to be removed.
