How to arrange the supply ventilation

The ventilation system is an important element in every home, because the quality of indoor air depends on the performance indicators. Ventilation can be natural and forced. The second type is recommended to be installed in rooms with poor natural ventilation or in those where forced air purification is needed.

When installing the supply system yourself, it is worth remembering that certain rules are observed. They will guarantee the reliability of the installation and the efficiency of the equipment.

How to choose?

Supply ventilation valves are most often installed directly in window structures or in the walls below them. They work without connecting to the electric network, and therefore provide an opportunity to save the budget.

Installation of valves does not take much time and does not require special skills. The big advantage is that they can be installed both at the stage of repair work and after their completion.

Preparatory stages

At the initial stage of the work, it is worth making sure that the ventilation system in the house is in working condition. To check its performance, you need to bring a lit match to the ventilation grill, having previously opened the window in the room. Fire must be drawn into the ventilation shaft. If this does not happen, the ventilation system must be cleaned of blockages, for which it is recommended to use the help of professionals.

At the next stage, it is necessary to choose a place for the subsequent installation of the supply ventilation valve. The best option is to install between the windowsill and the heating radiator.

After marking on the wall, you need to drill a through hole with a slight downward slope. A supply ventilation valve will be installed in it, the front of which should be flush with the surface of the inner wall.

If the device was purchased assembled, it must be taken apart before installation. In the standard, the design consists of the following elements:

• Lattices for air intake and protection against moisture;
• Air duct;
• Filters
• The decorative lining installed indoors.

Particular attention should be paid to the need to care for the ventilation inlet valve. Care includes replacing the filter elements, which must be done at least once every six months.
