The process of gluing the ceiling with panels requires mandatory surface preparation. It includes cleaning the base, repairing defects, removing deposits and puttying.
Having completed all the necessary preparatory procedures, you can begin to apply the markup. Two threads are pulled diagonally across the ceiling. The point where they intersect with each other will be the starting point for installing the ceiling panels.
Installation of products can be performed in several ways, for example, parallel, diagonal, with gaps, tight and so on. Regardless of the method used, panels always begin to install from the center of the ceiling. Thus, the cutting of plates will be carried out evenly along the perimeter of the room, due to which both an attractive appearance of the space and saving of materials used will be ensured.
For gluing ceiling panels use a special composition, known as "liquid nails." Thanks to it, high-strength fastening of products with the surface of the ceiling is provided, and this in no way depends on the material from which it is built. Adhesive for ceiling panels will equally reliably hold them on wooden, plastered, concrete and other surfaces.
Less popular is PVA glue, which, although it glues no worse, significantly extends the installation process. The composition is applied dotted along the perimeter of each panel, as well as in a diagonal direction crosswise.
The product is applied to the ceiling, while making light pressure movements in places where glue is applied. Each ceiling plate is held for a certain period of time, waiting for the glue to set.
The surface of the ceiling is first finished with whole panels, after which the pieces are necessary in size. To cut the plate, a line is drawn with a pencil in the required place. A ruler is applied to it, after which a knife is held along it. It is important to use a blunt rather than sharp knife for this, exerting light pressure on it.
As practice shows, it is better to draw along the line several times until a piece of the panel disappears than to try to cut it the first time. If you press the knife too hard, you can scratch or wrinkle the front of the plate. By cutting the panel with a blunt knife, you can get slightly rounded edges that simulate an uncut edge.
