Today, an increasing number of residents of urban buildings are buying doors for their apartments and houses from wood, namely pine. This move has gained wide popularity due to the fact that the pine material has quite a pleasant price performance compared to other solid wood. It is also worth noting the quite solid appearance and the high level of quality that the pine door gives.
Pine tree is quite common in our regions. That is why most domestic specialists are engaged in the manufacture of doors from this material, and due to such a numerical amount of raw materials, the released unit has a relatively low cost.
Pine doors can be located in any convenient place of the apartment:
- At the entrance to the house - this is the most expensive and complex type of door, since such a door must have serious strength. In this case, the door will have a very large thickness;
- Between the rooms is the most common and convenient type of door. Such doors can be adjusted to the parameter you need, painted in any color, give a pattern or pattern. Interior pine doors are famous for their lightness and small size;
- In the bathroom or toilet - such doors are impregnated with a layer of antifungal coatings in order to protect the wood from moisture. For additional protection, you can cover the door with a thin layer of plastic, in addition, such a move will improve sound insulation.
However, despite its low price and high practicality, pine doors have a wide range of disadvantages:
- First of all, it is worth noting the most important drawback - the pine door is too soft. In addition, it has a low level of strength, as a result of which, several years after installation, the surface of the doors will begin to show various cavities, nicks, etc .;
- Any model of doors made of wood will have a short life;
- In the manufacture of pine doors, various layers of impregnation are used, necessary to increase the service life. Thanks to the chemical elements of the impregnating materials, the ecological level of the door is reduced;
- The pine door will lose its attractive appearance due to temperature spikes and humidity levels in the house. Despite processing, the door will begin to show roughness and will begin to swell over time. This result can be avoided if the door is made of glued layers;
- When buying a door from a pine massif, it is worth considering that regular maintenance will be necessary to maintain integrity and beauty. At first, it will be possible to wipe the door surface with a cloth, but after a long time you will have to resort to repair work;
- Continuous painting and varnishing of doors will lead to damage to the top layer of the door, and as a consequence to loss of quality.
