Stretch ceilings are fast, inexpensive and stylish. Today, there are three varieties: satin, glossy and fabric. In addition to the basic colors and decorations at the plants, they can offer a photo printing service that will help to qualitatively update the interior. But there are some problems associated with the operation and quality of such coverage.
Photo printing technology
The paint is applied to the film web in such a way that part of it is absorbed into several layers in depth. There are four printing methods with their advantages and disadvantages:
- Solvent - when applying the drawing, aggressive inks are used, which have high toxicity. This printing method should not be used for interior decoration due to the unpleasant smell of ink. Most often it is used for paintings on an industrial scale.
- Eco-solvent - the composition uses the same ink as in the previous method, but they have less toxicity and can be used to decorate paintings in residential premises. Such suspended ceilings are not recommended for installation in children's rooms. The cost of registration with eco-solvent paints is more expensive. With a dark base, the canvas can shine through.
- Ultraviolet - such printing is safe for health, but due to the technology more expensive. The image is juicy and bright. The main disadvantage of this method is the restriction on the width of the canvas to two meters.
- Latex is the most expensive and effective way to print. The technology has no restrictions on the width of the canvas, and the paints used are absolutely safe for health.
Common problems
Despite the beauty of photo printing on PVC film, this method has common problems. Most of them are related to production technology and quality.
Bad smell
Many users on the network who have installed ceilings with photo printing note a persistent unpleasant odor that lasts in the room for several months. This problem arises from the use of low-quality paints.
Color mismatch
Photo printing company managers usually warn that some colors may not match the original picture. This is due to the lack of some shades in the palette of colors used.
Poor image
With expensive work on high-quality equipment and with normal paint, the picture is clear and bright. But if the production uses low-quality consumables, as well as printing presses, then the image may turn out to be slid out or fuzzy.
Also a frequent problem are smudges of paint on the finished canvas. Typically, such shortcomings are eliminated at the stage of production work, but in some cases the customer receives defective work.
