Many apartment owners in vain rely on the fact that the design of the plastic window almost completely protects against heat loss through the window opening. They forget that the slopes must also be properly insulated. Often you can see that they are processed only with some kind of decorative finish, over time this is fraught with unpleasant consequences.

Between the wall and the double-glazed window, the seam is usually filled with polyurethane foam. This material is quite fragile, it is destroyed by moisture, ultraviolet radiation, low temperature. Therefore, if the foam begins to crumble, accordingly, gaps will appear, through which heat will leave. In addition, moisture may accumulate in the void between the wall and the decorative panel, which will lead to the formation of condensation and possibly fungi.

If there is no way to make a complete insulation of the slopes, you need to at least process them with plaster. There are several materials that are traditionally used when warming slopes. Each of them has its own characteristics, so you need to choose wisely.

Mineral wool gives very good heat and sound insulation. The only negative is that it absorbs moisture well. Therefore, if condensation appears on the window, it is worth getting rid of the mineral wool, otherwise mold may appear. Styrofoam is very popular, it is inexpensive, and working with it is simple. Penoplex has slightly more advanced properties, and it costs more. Many people find it best to work with sandwich panels. They already include heat-insulating protective layers and look quite aesthetically pleasing, their price is high. To determine which material to choose, you must first see what size of the gap you want to cover. If more than 4 cm, sheet materials are needed. If the gaps are small, you can choose between a decorative panel or mineral wool.

Before starting work, it is necessary to carefully inspect the mounting seams around the perimeter, bring the lighter. If somewhere the flame deviates, then there are gaps in this place that need to be filled. In this case, the old mounting foam is removed and the slit foams again. After everything has dried, the excess is cut off. And only then can we start warming. If foam or foam is chosen as the material, it is necessary to plaster the slopes and the space between the frame and the wall with cement mortar to start. After everything dries, treat with an antibacterial composition, then cut the insulation. Better cut the pieces with a margin then. Sand the surface with sandpaper, coat with special glue, after gluing, you need to fix the insulation with plastic umbrellas and then make reinforcement with a mesh. Then put the perforator on the putty and set it to level. And already on the front part of the insulation you can apply any decorative coating at the discretion of the owner.

You can also perform combined warming. The preparatory work will all be the same as in the previous version. The mounting joints after preparation are covered with foil insulation, but the material should slightly go into the adjacent wall. Then a U-shaped profile is attached for further installation of slopes, then sheets of the desired size are cut from the sandwich panels and fixed in the profile. The voids are respectively filled with mineral wool, and then there is a finishing profile. In this case, with a financial constraint, you can replace the sandwich panels with polystyrene, but you need to remember that he will also need to finish.

The exterior finish of the slopes will never be superfluous. Here it is best to choose penoplex. It is necessary to clean the treated area from dust and dirt, level it with cement mortar. As soon as it dries, cut the insulation, grease these sheets with glue and install on the slopes. Additionally, you can nail in several places dowels. Then the corners are mounted, the front surface of the foam is treated with special glue, and a reinforcing mesh is fixed to it. Then all this is leveled with putty, and after drying, water-based paint or some other material is applied.
