Angle grinder ("grinder") is a disk tool used for cutting or grinding metal, brick, stone, wood. Each type of material has its own disk, which is erased in the process of working with the tool. Therefore, the disks have to be periodically replaced with new ones. And for security reasons, this must be done correctly, because a flown disk can cause injury to an employee or observers.
Disk installation
Before starting the installation, de-energize the tool. If the “Bulgarian” accidentally turns on in his hands at this moment, serious injuries cannot be avoided.
Installing the disk correctly will help a number of tips:
- You must install the disk strictly according to the instructions. It is important to install the cutting wheel with the working side. There is a label and marking on one side of the disc, but not on the other. They differ in properties. And with prolonged use, the difference will necessarily affect.
- A clamping washer is placed on the side with the label, on which the movable nut will act at the time of installation of the disk. The nut slides over the smooth surface of the washer and facilitates the process of twisting or unscrewing. This allows you to quickly replace the disc in the event of a breakdown or squeezing by the machine. A correctly installed disc breaks less frequently, since the load is distributed on two sides.
- To fix a disk with teeth on the contrary will not work, as well as a grinding one. In this case, it will become impossible to work as a “grinder”.
- On the stone discs there is an arrow indicating the direction of rotation of the stem. On it and you need to put the disk.
- Do not place a larger disc by removing the protective cover.
- There should not be any debris under the disc. If the nut presses small grains of sand or pebbles, they will be pressed around, but the skew can cause a large vibration of the entire tool. In this case, the disk may be deformed, but it will not work out to cut off the part.
- The nut should be twisted with the regular key from the “grinder”. Pressing the button protects against stem rotation. To remove the disk, you need to press this button and at the same time unscrew the nut. The disc must be placed exactly in place with the front side out.
- The cardboard gaskets that come with the grinder are placed between the clamping parts and the disk. In case of breakage or jamming of a disk, it will be easier to unscrew. Then you need to tighten the clamping nut and tighten with the wrench intended for it. A disc installed in this way will hold onto the instrument securely and will not fly off during operation.
