Cordless screwdriver is an integral assistant in any household. Its ability to work without an electrical outlet will allow you to perform any work without being tied to the presence of a nearby outlet. A significant drawback of such a device is the limitation of operating time due to the size of the battery. In addition, it has a certain resource, after the expiration of which, the battery must be replaced.
The only way to make your tool universal is to refine it, adapting the work from the network. There are several common ways to change the design of a device. Let's consider each of them in order:
- Charger from a laptop. This method does not require extensive experience and knowledge in technical matters. Such a charger has sufficiently suitable characteristics for an electric tool. It is important to pay attention to the marking of the output voltage. If his indicators are within the acceptable limit, then you can safely get to work. The alteration process involves several stages: cutting off the connector from charging, as well as soldering or winding wires to the device through a previously made hole.
- External power supply for the computer. The “AT” block format is perfect. It is necessary to pay attention to such indicators as: power up to 350 W; circuit current up to 12 V, but not less than 16 A. The connection process involves disassembling the power supply, removing the "protection against inclusion" and soldering wires to the battery terminals of the tool.
- Battery for car. The connection principle is very similar to the previous ones. The procedure involves the additional use of wires of small cross section, which on the one hand are connected to the battery terminals, and on the other hand, to a screwdriver. It is recommended that the connections be fixed with clamps for reliability, as well as reliable insulation to prevent short circuits.
- Wire connection. After completely disassembling the screwdriver, it is necessary to determine the plus and minus. Using a soldering iron, the wire is connected to the device, and all connections are reliably insulated.
Thus, we can conclude that a failed battery is not a sentence for a screwdriver. There are a large number of ways to change the design of the power in the device. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages, however, all of them, without exception, require increased attention in the process.
