Many people who want to carry out internal repairs, even just cosmetic ones, are faced with the fact that the most voluminous work is ahead with the walls, because most often they also have to be leveled. There are many ways to carry out these works, as well as materials, but more often they choose the classic alignment options using drywall or plaster.

In recent years, it is gypsum plasterboard that wins from these two building materials; it is notable for its easy laying on the wall, affordability, and pollution is much slower. Moreover, if there is absolutely no time to remove the old coating from the wall, then this option is the most successful, because it is fixed even on the paint.

If you hire masters, then they will calculate everything themselves, but for those who want to do everything themselves, there are several simple nuances. First you need to see where the outlets are located or outline the places where they are planned to be installed.
The amount of additional load is also calculated, for example, if there is a mounted TV, then its weight will also affect the amount of material and its location. Based on these data, the volume of purchases is determined.

Plasterboard sheets for perfectly even walls
The first thing to do is marking the walls, which will have to be aligned. Metal profiles have axes, they must be located at a distance of at least 60 cm from each other. Those profiles that are located vertically are necessarily equal to the height of the ceilings (even if they are different in each room). After that, you need to install the frame. To do this, cut the profile sheets according to the already outlined sizes, do this using ordinary scissors for cutting metal. For example, if the room has a ceiling height of more than 3 meters, then you need to purchase a profile height of 4 meters, and then cut it off, do not attach the missing centimeters to the three-meter, they can simply be uneven to gain a foothold.

The base must be fixed to the floor, this is called the guide profile. To install it, you need to have dowels in the arsenal, with the help of them you also need to fix the suspensions, their distance should be from 50 to 60 cm. Before fixing the profile, it is necessary to level it with the help of a level, and then attach it to the suspensions with self-tapping screws. According to the standard, drywall sheets are 120 cm wide, so they should form a joint located in the middle of the profile frame.

After this, the sheet is fixed with other screws to the installed profile, here you can not do without a screwdriver. Here you also need to observe a distance not exceeding 25 cm. When the ceiling height is not standard, exceeds the length of the gypsum plasterboard, they can be set apart, and then clippings are cut to cover empty spaces. Those joints that were formed should be strengthened, so they use profile jumpers. Cutting sheets of drywall is quite simple, you just need a clerical knife.

How to prepare lined walls for applying paint or wallpaper?
When each drywall sheet is finally fixed, seams can be repaired. A primer is carried out in those places where joints are formed, after which a self-adhesive mesh is applied. This is done so that cracks do not form at these joints. Upon completion of these works, you can start preparing the putty mixture.
After mixing, it can be applied immediately to the seam areas using small or large spatulas. With the help of a small, holes from screwed-in screws are sealed up.

When the mixture is well dried up, you can sand all uneven places, for this use grinding devices and a special mesh. Then again comes the primer and after it the finishing application of putty. When the wall dries again, final sanding is performed and the surface is primed. And after all this is completely dry, you get smooth walls, ready for wallpapering or paintwork.
