Many people know that ordinary second glue in combination with soda gives a solid connection to almost any hard surface. It can be plastic, metal, glass, rubber - a lot of options.
Of course, it is important that the surfaces to be bonded are dry and degreased. Both of these tasks can be solved with a solvent. If you need to connect a wooden part and a plastic one, it is not at all necessary to spend time drying the wood. It is enough to properly soak the desired area of wood with a solvent. It mixes quickly with the moisture in the tree and evaporates with it. Such quick "drying" eliminates moisture sufficient for bonding a layer of wood.
To connect different surfaces, no special tools are required either. Only sandpaper can be useful in case you need to remove the excess mixture of soda and glue.
For a strong connection you only need:
- Any second glue;
- Soda;
- Objects of work;
- Sandpaper.
The easiest way, of course, is to connect homogeneous surfaces. For example, a cracked freezer compartment is suitable. To avoid contact of products with glue, it is better to glue outside. First you need to bait the surface, so they will not move during the main work.
Then it is necessary to apply a layer of glue to the crack. Next, do not rush, because even a second glue can still take time to dry and do not seize immediately. After application, gently sprinkle glue with soda. After a couple of seconds, the excess baking soda can be blown off and the gluing repeated for a more durable result.
When you need to connect several wooden parts, the same principle will help. We must not forget to thoroughly wipe them with a solvent, then apply glue, combine and sprinkle with soda. Such a connection is resistant not only to mechanical stress, but also to moisture.
It is more difficult to glue plastic objects or plastic with something else, since it is very smooth. Here the sandpaper will help out, you just need to walk it on the surface to create scratches that will provide excellent grip.
Surprisingly, even metal and rubber are tightly connected by this method. Due to the high strength of the connection, soda with superglue can be used even when assembling small parts, such as, for example, in modeling. The main thing is to rid the working surfaces of fat and liquid and, if necessary, use sandpaper.
