Typically, water flowing from a valve through a drainage tube is collected in a storage tank or lowered into a sewer. The volume of liquid discharged per day is 1.5-3% of the size of the storage tank.

If the flow is more intense, the spring inside the fuse may be damaged, the inner gasket has moved away, or it is clogged. In this case, it must be dismantled, disassembled, cleaned and reassembled. If this does not help, replace the valve fitting with a working one.

What to do if a water heater flows

The most unpleasant if the leak is connected with the boiler itself. If a leak is detected directly from the water heater, immediately turn off the device and shut off the water. After that, you need to remove the outer cover of the device and inspect the leak.

There are two main types of malfunction: either the tank itself burst, and then the entire unit really needs to be replaced, or because the valve that has been exhausted due to some reason, due to excessive internal pressure, has squeezed out the drive gasket in the mounting area TENA.

In this case, you can try to replace this gasket yourself or call the wizard. It is also necessary to check the operation of the valve fuse or replace it.

Prevention so that the water heater does not leak in the future

To avoid such problems, it is necessary to adhere to simple rules during installation and operation:

• High-quality docking of sanitary units using gaskets;
• Connect the device to the water supply system in the correct scheme using a check valve and a reduction gear, as well as a drainage system;
• To control the temperature of heating the water in the tank, do not bring it to the maximum level;
• Turn off the heater if it is not intended to be used for a long time;
