Designs with telescopic rails have become the most common solution for furniture, especially the kitchen. During operation, sometimes it becomes necessary to completely remove the furniture drawer from the cabinet. But it just won’t work out. Telescopic guides are the element that prevents the device from falling out during careless movement. This can be done without damaging the structure, having a minimum of knowledge and tools.

Despite the variety of accessories, all the guides are similar in their main principle - the presence of two trims, one of which is attached to the plane of the pedestal, and the other to the pull-out element. Inside the system, between the trims, there are small balls, due to which the ride and durability of the structure are ensured. The main differences may be in the depth of the extension:
- Systems where the fittings do not allow you to move forward completely.
- The mechanism can be fully advanced.
- Super full extension. The storage system can be pulled out of the facade. Often used in archive racks.
Guides also exist in four sizes (the most common - 45 mm. high).
The presence of a closer, that is, a special unit, which itself presses the box until it is completely closed, makes the accessories more comfortable, but does not introduce revolutionary changes to the design.
How to remove the drawer completely
This operation may be needed to service the fittings, but most often due to the fact that some object or rag has fallen into the interior and interferes with a complete closure or extension.
Due to the fact that all telescopic rails are fundamentally similar in their structure, there are no special differences in their removal, regardless of the size, extension system, or availability closer:
- It is necessary to pull out the box completely, as far as the guides allow.
- In the place where one of the hardware strips enters the other, there will be a plastic retainer, you need to press on it, or turn it. Here, the design of the castle may vary, so the way: to push or turn, and in one or different directions, will need to be found empirically.
- Having done such an operation from two sides, pull the mechanism, and it will easily extend completely.
Important! During operations with a plastic latch, do not apply excessive force; you can break the latch. You can help with a thin screwdriver, but it's best to do everything with your fingers. Do not pull out the lock completely from the guides!
Errors leading to breakage, or what to do
All removal operations must be carried out with the drawers completely unloaded. When pulled out, a heavy box can damage (bend) the guides, after which it will be difficult to give them the correct geometric shapes.
The operation to remove large-sized drawers is best done together, for the reason indicated above.
Do not disassemble the closers, the guides themselves, due to the presence of many small parts in them.
