Decorated bottles

Filling the bottle with colored salt

This option is great for joint creativity with young children. The child will definitely like the variety of colors and the interesting free-flowing texture of the material. The process of decorating bottles is very simple: you need a beautiful glass container, coarse table salt, crayons or gouache. You can color salt in the following ways:

  • gouache - the paint is added to salt and mixed thoroughly. Then the mixture must be dried. Drying time can be shortened by placing the salt on the baking sheet in the oven for about an hour;
  • colored chalk - this method is more painstaking, suitable for small portions. Salt is poured onto a horizontal surface and rubbed with crayons. Here, the larger the salt particles, the easier and faster you will be able to change its color.

Already multi-colored salt must be carefully poured into a bottle using a sheet of paper. Parallel stripes are fine for the first try, but slanted patterns will look much nicer. To obtain this pattern, tilt the bottle alternately in different directions.

Decorative preservation - kitchen decoration

Decorating bottles with canned vegetables is not the easiest design solution to make. However, it looks impressive in the interior and is very cozy, home-like, so you should definitely try it.

Bottles decorated in this way resemble ordinary cans of winter preserves. The only difference is that for the preparation of the former, much stronger preservatives are used, which make the food inside it unsuitable for eating. This is glycerin or acetic acid. The following vegetables look advantageous: carrots, red peppers, zucchini, small tomatoes and cucumbers. Experiment with color combinations.

Decorating with cereals and legumes

This do-it-yourself decor of glass bottles at the same time combines the features of decoration with salt and canned food. Here, cereals and legumes are used as a filler: beans, lentils, coffee beans, corn, peas. This option is easier to manufacture than the previous one, since no special filling of preservatives is required.

Decorating the glass surface with semolina should be mentioned in this topic. Looks great on glasses at a wedding, because in appearance it imitates delicate white lace. The process is not complicated: using a stencil, glue is patterned on the glass, then semolina is poured onto it. The excess is blown away or brushed off with a soft brush.

Decoration with fabric and leather

The design of bottles using fabric and leather is an interesting and complex option. For him, however, does not require large material costs. Just go through your wardrobe - for sure there are old things that you no longer wear. Any fabric will do, because they all have an interesting texture in their own way.

The fabric can either be tightly wrapped around the container, or with its help you can create a relief effect. For the second method, the material is cut into strips and soaked in a solution of water and PVA glue. Then all you have to do is squeeze the strips out and shape them onto the bottle. After drying, apply water-based paint.

Burlap is ideal for country style, transforming from a rough material into a light and plastic one. The burlap-covered surface can be additionally decorated with beads, beads, rhinestones, laces and ribbons.

Leather is, in any case, an expensive material. You can use both natural and artificial, the decor element will still look luxurious and solid. Remember that it is much more convenient to work with natural raw materials due to the elasticity of the material.

Twine for reincarnation

Decorating bottles with twine with your own hands is a simple technique, but it looks stylish, suitable for an ethnic-style interior. It can be presented as a gift to both a man and a woman. The coffee beans that adorn the pasted base will look elegant. Satin ribbons or braid can be used instead of twine, this will make the item more elegant.

The principle of decoration here is similar to the previous one. Like strips of fabric, the rope must be soaked in a solution of water and PVA, then wrap the bottle. Instead of glue, you can use double-sided tape, so the work will turn out not only easier, but also cleaner. Decorating bottles with threads can be completed using any beautiful little things: shells, pebbles, feathers, beads, buttons, fabric or artificial flowers.

Decoupage - new from old

Decorative decoupage is perhaps the most interesting way to turn an unsightly thing into an interior highlight, breathe new life into it. For the base, not only a glass container, but also a ceramic, plastic one is suitable.

Before starting work, the surface is leveled with a primer. After the primer has dried, use a brush to paint the bottle with acrylic paint. Choose any color, but consider the design features of the room where the bottle will be placed.

When the acrylic paint is completely dry, start placing on the surface of the decoration. These can be printed images from the Internet, photos from the family archive, inspirational phrases, pirate treasure maps or special decoupage napkins.

Napkin technique for unusual texture

Pape-art (from the word paper - paper) is a special technique for decorating with napkins. They must be cut into thin strips, moistened in PVA glue and, slightly stretching, applied to the surface of the bottle. After drying, you can start painting the paper with paints, and then add a few details: figures made of polymer clay or plastic, artificial flowers are suitable.

It is possible to place napkins on containers without tension. In this case, the texture will be more explicit and interesting. If you choose this option, instead of using regular tissues, use more durable paper towels or multilayer toilet paper.

A few important tips:

  1. Acrylic paints should be used in the work.
  2. The work should be fixed with a special acrylic varnish.
  3. When applying, it is better to use not a brush, but a sponge dipped in paint.

Coloring for a new life

The idea to paint an old container, to give it a chance for a new life in a different guise is an excellent task for an artist or a novice designer. Such an element of decor will certainly attract attention, will become the highlight of the room.

Before applying paint, wash and dry the container, treat with acetone or alcohol. Further, acrylic, colored varnish or spray paint can be used. When decorating, show your imagination - arm yourself with a brush, sponge, glitter, stencil, masking tape to correct color spots.

If you want to leave the outside of the bottle untouched and the inside to be colored, forget about the paintbrush. Just pour a small amount of paint inward and turn slowly to distribute the color evenly along the walls. Pour the rest of the paint and place the container to dry with the neck down to let the excess drip. Repeat the procedure twice in case you find faint gaps on examination.

To paint bottles with your own hands, you can choose absolutely any topic. Suitable as an ode to beloved Moscow with an ornament in the form of a red star, and the New Year's version - with spruce paws and golden months.

Unusual eggshell effect

Eggshells perfectly imitate snake or crocodile skin. The decor principle is very simple: prime the surface with PVA glue, then break the eggshell, having previously separated the film from the inside. Pieces of shell are applied to the surface and pressed to achieve additional cracking of the material. You can move them a little more to make the composition look more advantageous, but don't overdo it.

The container, which turned out as a result of the work done, is painted with acrylic, a fixing varnish is applied on top. With the help of cheap material and a simple process, a fashionable crackle effect is achieved.

Macaroni and buttons - a budget luxury

Materials for such a design do not require large cash costs, and the result looks stylish if the right color solutions are chosen. Buttons, pasta or other small parts are glued to PVA, and after drying they are treated with spray paint. Metallic (silver, gold, copper) and black shades look expensive.

Candy bottle is a delicious gift

In this case, you do not need an empty bottle, but a high quality drink. Such a gift looks cute, it can be presented, for example, to a loved one on Valentine's Day.

The entire glass surface is decorated with foil wrapped candies using a glue gun. You can complement the design by tying a beautiful satin ribbon around the neck.

We hope that these tips will help you transform old containers into true masterpieces. Happy creativity!
