The heat-insulated floor gains great popularity. In this regard, there are new ways of laying it, in which it is easy to get confused. Is it possible to make a warm floor under a screed or leveler? The answer is yes. But for this you need to know the features of the technology.
As a screed, a concrete layer is meant, which can be made of a cement-sand mixture, to which PVA glue is added, and using special mixtures for pouring a warm floor. The only exception to this technology: an infrared coating is not placed under the concrete screed.
Correct Pie Laying
Regardless of the type of floor, an insulating layer of foam foam or cork with foil is placed under them. The next step is laying water pipes, halts or finished heating mats. It turns out a soft base for laying a concrete screed.
For the strength of the finished structure, a hole is made in each square meter of the insulating layer, and 15 centimeters is indented on all sides in the room where the floor is laid. All manipulations are carried out so that the upper concrete screed has support in the form of a rough floor screed.
The optimum thickness of the leveler should be within 3-5 cm. With such a device, concrete will quickly heat up with a warm floor system, and the effect of alternating warm and cold stripes of the coating is also eliminated.
The proportions of mixing the concrete base with the additive are 100 kilograms to 1 liter. If there is a desire to achieve the greatest elasticity of the screed, it is necessary to use a self-leveling mixture during operation.
Work stages
Screed under the warm floor is done in several stages:
- Thermal insulation material is fixed to the rough screed with dowels, adhesive tape or adhesive tape;
- A reinforcing metal mesh is laid, which will also serve as a marking for elements of the warm floor. It is fixed to the base by any of the above methods;
- A damper tape is laid around the perimeter of the insulator, which restrains and reduces the coefficient of linear tension of the material. It also acts as a sound insulator and heat insulator;
- The design of the warm floor is laid, which is connected to the heat supply system;
- A leveling concrete screed is poured.
- After the leveler dries, the finish coating is mounted on the warm floor.
It should be taken into account that the first test connection of the warm system occurs after the concrete screed is completely set. This usually takes about 45 days. If testing fails, the coverage breaks and everything is done anew.
