Repair is often a change in the interior of the environment. There are a huge number of different finishing materials that are not only ready to change the appearance of a living or working room, but also to transform old things that have become obsolete. Such interior items surprise with their uniqueness and look elegant and harmonious.

Vintage items were always in fashion, but in addition to this, they often cost a considerable fortune.
Collectors and connoisseurs are ready to compete for a truly ancient and valuable little thing. But who said that ruin becomes a prerequisite for the acquisition of such luxury. With skillful hands, you can artificially age any item.
It is not difficult to achieve a rare look of the item, you just need to have this list of materials:
- A set of paint brushes;
- Sandpaper;
- A piece of good quality laundry soap;
- 3 cans of acrylic paint of certain color combinations;
- Cotton pads;
- Interior item ready for transformation.
Next, you need to think about color combinations, for example, three layers will look optimal, for example, red-brown, mustard and sky blue.
For a natural look of an aged surface, first apply one layer of brown paint, it will be the base.
Then start applying a mustard color to the surface, and already on it you can put a layer of blue paint. This blue will become the main color of the thing, through it then two layers of the previously applied will be visible through it.

For a more natural look, it is better to use chalk type paint, work with it will not be limited to type material that needs to be aged, because it is suitable for any surfaces, such as, for example plastic. It is great for use at home, but do not forget about accuracy and you should line your work surface with plastic film.

Not taking into account the advice of the masters in this matter is a big mistake, so before processing the item, you need to practice on an unnecessary piece of wood and choose the most attractive option, having filled your hand.
Train to apply paint with wide confident strokes, then there will be no smudges, they are useless in this matter.

For the effect of peeling paint, you must adhere to the following algorithm of work:
- After applying the first coat to furniture, allow it to dry thoroughly;
- Lubricate evenly with soap and water the places where you want to create the effect of raggedness and antiquity. Soap, when exposed to sandpaper, will release and show a layer of bottom paint;
- The next step is to apply an intermediate layer of mustard color. After waiting for it to dry completely, rub the soaped areas until you see the first brown layer;
- Once again, soap the areas through which the brown base layer will peel;
- Put a layer of blue on your subject, not covering the places treated with sandpaper. When the top paint dries, rub the intermediate layer previously greased with soap.

To enhance the effect of an aged item, dampen a cotton pad in the base paint, patting it lightly and walk around the areas where the paint cracked and peeled off due to sandpaper.

As you can see, with your own hands you can tastefully taste almost any interior item, the main thing is not to overdo it and not spoil the appearance of the furniture. It is important to make a unique little thing "with its own story."
