And there are many reasonable reasons for this, including good noise and heat insulation, the ability to "breathe" and simply environmental friendliness. And to solve the problem of tightness with modern materials is not so difficult.
If blowing from a wooden window, do the following:
- If gaps are found, you need to prepare a liquid for surface treatment. It can be both ethyl alcohol and ordinary vodka. Stock up on insulation. Many old-fashioned use for this unnecessary newspapers, cotton wool and even old rags. The first two methods are preferable. However, it is best to go to a hardware store and buy a ready-made insulation with an adhesive edge there. It costs inexpensively, it is sold, as a rule, by a meter. One window should take at least 10 meters. To close the insulation, you will need a medical plaster or masking tape. Ordinary adhesive tape is strongly discouraged, since at low temperatures it will quickly move off the surface and also leave traces that will not be easy to wash off.
- Prepare the surface - from the place of gluing the insulation, thoroughly wash off the dirt and degrease the frame. For this, any alcohol-containing liquid that does not leave traces is suitable. The higher the percentage of alcohol, the more effective the degreasing. It is it that allows the insulation to hold firmly to the frame. After cleansing from dirt, you need to dry the window and do the same after rubbing it with alcohol, then glue the insulation tape.
- Close gaps - using old methods, it is tedious to persevere and carefully fill all gaps by twisting the material into thin bundles and pushing them deeper with the help of a kitchen knife.
- Tape frames - this is tedious only with complete isolation, otherwise the adhesive tape will go away. As for the patch, it initially due to the temperature difference may not fit snugly, but after a while this problem will disappear.
The quality of the work performed can be estimated using a candle. It is enough to carry it along the perimeter of the frame - if the light does not waver, then everything is in order, otherwise most likely you need to increase the amount of insulation.
