An electric stove is an excellent alternative to a gas stove, but when connecting it, you need to follow the correct sequence of actions and at least read a little about the features of installation. There are four gross errors, due to which the stove will not be connected correctly, and its functioning is dangerous.

Main mistakes
From time to time, people who decide to save on the work of an electrician decide to connect the stove themselves and make the following mistakes:
- Using aluminum wire. In all residential buildings, only copper wiring should be used. This is indicated in the electrical installation rules. Aluminum can be used as an alternative to copper, but the cross-section of its wire should be 16 mm and no less. If the food in the apartment is single-phase, then the wire should be used three-wire;
- Lack of safety switch. Its presence in the apartment panel must be mandatory, because in which case the lesser of the troubles will be a breakdown of the electric stove, and it can even reach a short circuit. Therefore, a circuit breaker with a rated current of 32A and with characteristic C must be installed in the shield. The line leading to the electric stove must contain a switching device;
- Ignoring the instructions and its disposal. The biggest mistake that can lead to two unpleasant consequences. Firstly, without instructions and other documentation, a defective plate cannot be returned under warranty, and secondly, in the accompanying papers the connection diagram is most often drawn, and key points are described installation;
- Connect the stove in any way. Ignoring grounding and the need to purchase power outlets can result in breakdown of all electrical wiring in the house. Often, the plate is connected without protective conductors, while TN-C-S and TN-S are recognized as the only correct connection systems.

Basic requirements for connecting electric stoves
All conditions listed below must be met for safe connection and use:
- It is allowed to use three-core copper wires, the cross section of which is at least 4 mm squared with a cord length of up to 12 m, and whose cross section is 6 mm squared with a length of 12 m;
- A separate automatic machine for the stove is installed in the electrical panel;
- Be sure to mount a device for automatically turning off the electric stove;
- The stove is necessarily grounded by any of the available methods.
