New bill: how much do you have to pay for electricity

The Russian government is once again considering the possibility of electricity reform. Something similar has already happened in 2013. The bill was frozen due to the fact that a significant increase in tariffs was expected. In case the current consideration of the bill leads to innovations, it is worth bearing in mind which equipment in the house consumes the most electricity.

The information that the government is going to introduce a social norm for electricity was released on October 2. It is known that the potential innovation was approved by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak. On his instructions, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service should submit draft regulatory documents by January 15 of next year. At the moment, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested an energy consumption rate of 300 kW / h.

This amount of electricity consumed will have to be paid at the base rate. When the value for the last month exceeds the norm, an increased rate begins to apply. In the case when more than 500 kW / h is consumed, the so-called “economically sound tariff” will be involved. No specific data on the size of tariffs yet. However, it is noteworthy that the norm will not be calculated per person, but per connection point, that is, per household. In such a situation, citizens living alone and families with several children are on an equal footing. According to statistics, the average household in a country consists of 2.5 people, and the average amount of electricity spent per month is 220 kW / h.

Against the background of the discussion of the energy bill, many will probably want to calculate possible ways to save energy. In this case, you need to keep in mind that the refrigerator consumes the most electricity, which is turned on all the time. Of course, the figure may depend on its power, model, volume and other factors. On average, the refrigerator consumes from 25 to 60 kW / h per month. A lot of energy "eats" a personal computer. Here, of course, technical specifications are also important. If it is turned on for about 4 hours a day, about 40 kW / h will be spent per month. The laptop in this case will consume about 10 kW / h, LCD TV - up to 18 kW / h per month. The use of a washing machine leads to serious expenses. If it works for about 6 hours a week, monthly consumption will be 45 kW / h, the dishwasher has approximately the same indicators. An electric stove, contrary to expectations, spends only up to 8 kW / h. You should not discount various small appliances like a hair dryer, an electric kettle and an iron. They can consume from 13 to 20 kW / h. A lot of energy is spent on lighting if old incandescent lamps are screwed into the cartridges. In this case, expenses can reach up to 90 kW / h.
