Comfortable temperature in the cold season is not observed on all balconies. This is explained by the fact that warming in some situations is completely unnecessary or useless.

Balconies with cold glazing are sometimes insulated, but the desired result in this case cannot be obtained, even if you invest a large amount of effort and money. Insulation on such balconies is most often not correct. To make the room comfortable for staying at any time of the year, certain rules must be observed.

Glazing is sometimes present in only purchased apartments in both the secondary and primary markets. In an old housing stock, it can be almost anything. The quality of glazing varies in new buildings. Many developers save on materials, so the cold version is used. At the same time, the balcony is not insulated at all.

To get a noticeable result, work will need to start with replacing the glazing. Window frames are the main source of heat loss, so you will need to take care of them first.

However, in some situations, cold glazing can be left simply by improving its thermal insulation performance. Most often, the frames in this case are made of aluminum, which in itself has a very high thermal conductivity. With such frames, the balcony will cool off very quickly. Plastic double-glazed windows can also be cold. In this case, it is necessary to check the number of chambers, since usually heat quickly disappears from balconies glazed with single-chamber plastic windows. They can not resist frost, even if the floor, walls and ceiling will be processed and insulated very high quality.

On the balcony, it is necessary to close up all the seams that are between the walls and frames. The corners of the balcony box itself will need to be given special attention, no gaps should remain on the walls. If you do not follow this, all work on further insulation can be completely useless. It is worth considering that through any openings in the walls and frames, moisture can also penetrate the balcony, which adversely affects the state of decoration and the microclimate.
