The warm floor is an important part of the cozy conditions in the house. However, when warming floors, the process does not always go smoothly. Let's find out exactly what mistakes when warming floors are made by non-professionals and what this can lead to.
The insulation was not properly stored and unpacked.
Mineral wool is often used as a heater. It is sold in its original packaging, in which it is stored well enough. But. After it was delivered to the construction site, a number of rules must be observed:
1. The minimum time for unpacking the insulation is not less than a day before the start of installation. This should be done indoors or under a canopy. Otherwise, rain or dew can ruin the material.
2. Unpacked material must not be left in this condition for a long period. Under the influence of moisture, it will lose its properties.
3. After the insulation is laid, it is immediately necessary to proceed with the installation of the floor covering.

Compression of the insulation or the gaps between it
The laying of insulation material must be carried out very clearly. If the mineral wool is in a compressed state, then it will lose some of the insulating properties. And in the case of the formation of gaps between the plates of polystyrene foam or other material, they will become conductors of the cold. Such a defect is blown by the foam.

Poor floor condition
It is not recommended to insulate the floor if the logs under it are too old or have been exposed to mold. Therefore, before starting work on insulation, they need to be replaced.

Insufficient insulation thickness
When using a too thin layer of extension cord, the desired effect cannot be achieved. At this point, you can’t save.

Waterproofing
If groundwater is located at a depth of less than 2 meters, then it is necessary to start the process of floor insulation in waterproofing.

Impermeable membranes
Very often, in order to protect the insulation from moisture coming from below, impervious materials are used. However, condensation will still collect in the insulation layer. For this reason, the lower protection must have diffusion properties. In this case, moisture will not accumulate in the insulation, freely leaving the steam outside.

Violation of "interlayers"
In order for the floor to serve for a long time, layers of vapor barrier can not be skipped. The insulation must be reliably protected both from above and from below.
