How to insulate a loggia and not break the law

Using the floor space of the apartment to the maximum is a significant issue for each homeowner. When carrying out work on the balcony, it is necessary to observe a number of conditions so as not to violate the law.

The first stage of repair work

First you need to decide what function the loggia will perform in the apartment. It can be a study or a creative workshop, or maybe something else. But there are limitations. It cannot be converted into a kitchen or dining room, as installation of an electric stove and sink is prohibited. The transfer of the heating battery, cabling through the loggia also cannot be carried out. Redevelopment, demolition of a load-bearing wall or expansion of an opening is illegal.

Expanded polystyrene and polystyrene have a high density, are mounted on the wall with dowels, fungi or mounting glue. The joints can be sealed with foam or sealant.

Folgoisolone is a foam material with a reflective layer. Basically, it is mounted on top of another insulation. It reflects heat and returns it back to the room.

The algorithm of the work:

1. Remove unnecessary things from the loggia, freeing up the room.
2. If cracks are identified, repair them.
3. Lay insulation over the entire area of ​​the balcony.
4. Install the underfloor heating.
5. Floor screed.
6. Install the temperature controller on the wall.

If a portable heater is installed in the room, then perform all repair work items, except for the last three.
