Having changed the floor-standing toilet for a wall-mounted one, I have never regretted this step. It is much more convenient to carry out cleaning with it, it visually expands the space, and it just looks much nicer: the tiles on the floor look holistic and keeps its drawing, and instead of the ugly cistern - a neat, also tiled wall, on which I still plan to hang shelves for all sorts of things. There were, of course, some subtleties with him, for example, associated with the selection of the correct size, but they are quite surmountable.

Their dimensions do not differ from floor structures. The standard bowl length is 50-60 cm, width and depth 30-40 cm. For an average human anatomy - the very thing, but in any case, nothing prevents us from making a custom-sized toilet bowl to order.
Moreover, now modern manufacturers have taken this into account, therefore, they are launching three varieties of it on the market: small, medium (or compact) and large. They differ from each other in width, and its frames vary depending on the company. There is also a division in length: into standard and short (46–48 cm).
However, no matter how sad it is to hear it, our comfort does not always decide everything. Still, you have to make allowances for reality, and in it everything is decided by the area of the toilet itself. It often happens when the space is so small that even the freshener seems to take up too much space.
But there are also the opposite cases: some people are so shy about the appearance of the toilet (it is indecent) that they acquire model of the smallest size and bashfully hide it in some farthest corner of the spacious joint bathroom. It looks, to put it mildly, strange.
Installation dimensions
Standard sizes of block systems:
- width - 50 cm;
- depth - 10-15 cm;
- height - 1 m.
If you, like me, opted for a frame installation, the following parameters will come in handy:
- width - 50-60 cm;
- depth - 15-30 cm;
- height - 0.8-1.4 m.
See how wide the spread is at the height. This is due to the fact that sometimes it is necessary to leave free space above the installation, for example, for the same shelves. And then the height depends on how much of this space you can take.
Reference! Low and wide installations are recommended for owners of wooden private houses and cottages to reduce the load on the wall. You can also use floor mounts.
Rules for choosing the dimensions of a wall-hung toilet
Before going to the store, you have to crawl a little on the floor with a tape measure. You will need to measure the width and length of the toilet (or, if the bathroom is combined, the space in which you plan to put the toilet). To make cleaning comfortable, and in front of your knees not resting against a wall or door, mentally calculate:
- what should be the width of the bowl so that at least 25-30 cm remains from the sides to the walls (or other objects, for example, a sink);
- what should be the sum of the installation depth and the length of the bowl so that at least 55-60 cm remains to the front wall or door.
Important! Do not forget to take into account the length of the sewer pipe coming out of the wall, since you cannot install a toilet closer to it.
Determine for yourself at what height it will be most comfortable for you to sit on the "white throne" so that your knees do not strain and your legs do not hang down. Do not repeat after this sad little man and select the optimal height for yourself and your household.
As you can see, nothing complicated. You just have to spend quite a bit of your time additionally. After all, if you do not do this, it can take much more time and effort to rework.
