Technically, the product is a container with 2 (or 3) fluid supply and drain holes, contains two mechanisms:
- inlet valve;
- shut-off valves.
The components of water supply and drainage are interconnected by a float, which is involved in the process of emptying and subsequent filling of the tank.

The equipment works according to the following scheme:
- while the water level in the tank decreases, the displacer is simultaneously lowered (air is holding it at the top);

Filling takes place through a flexible hose. The process can be carried out through an opening located:
- from the side (on the left or right side) - the float element is fixed at the end of the horizontal lever connected to the ball valve;
- from below - the displacer is docked with a vertical stem built into the eyeliner.
The drain circuit performs two tasks:
- does not allow accidental dumping into the toilet (closes the outlet until the button is pressed);
- protects the tank from overfilling (by means of an overflow tube), regulates the pressure during the descent.
The system can be performed in the form of a lever, a pneumatic chamber - their activation leads to the emptying of the tank.
Models with one or two keys are widespread and popular. The single version is designed to dump all the liquid, the doubles release it either entirely or in half. Some products have a built-in combined button that combines both options (the amount of water used depends on the depth of pressing). This allows you to significantly save on the used water resources.
Why is water slowly accumulating in the tank
The problem may lie in faults:
- displacement or incorrect installation of the float;
- blockage of the supply flexible hose;
- filter contamination, coating it with rust;
- contamination of the interface of the liner with the tank;
- the reinforcement elements are tightly tightened, which prevents their normal operation;

What to do if water is drawn into the tank for a long time
The simple device and the availability of spare parts in any plumbing store allows you to carry out repairs on your own if the water is poorly collected in the tank.
Let's start by checking the position of the displacer. Let's remove the tank lid, drain the water and observe how the component works. If we notice a bias in any direction, simply move the element to the standard position by hand. Straighten a strong bend manually.

Next, we shut off the supply using a valve on the water pipe and disconnect the flexible hose from the tank. Pay attention to possible damage (visual inspection) and blockage. To do this, lower the free end of the hose into the container, then turn on the pressure, see if the water pressure at the outlet decreases.
In addition, we will rinse the coarse filter - it is inside the liner and can be covered with deposits. We use platypuses to remove the part and clean it under a water jet. Stubborn stains can be softened with a vinegar or citric acid solution and left to soak for several hours. With a brush with hard bristles, carefully remove the dirt.
In cases where water continues to barely ooze, you will need to purchase a new pipe.
If no defects were found, it is necessary to inspect the area of the joint between the hose and the drain system for blockages. We use a screwdriver or other metal object and thoroughly clean the opening. To wash off the dirt, turn on a small pressure.
Make sure that all elements function freely, that there are no components that are too tight. We correct all omissions.
The inlet valve may become ineffective over time. The only solution here is to replace the part.
Poor water quality often provokes the appearance of sand and other particles - they gradually accumulate inside the parts and over time create a problem when typing into the tank. Installing an additional filter will save you this trouble.
