How to plant cucumbers in the open ground, when it is best done

There are two most common ways of planting cucumbers in the garden. The first is the seeds. The second is a seedling. Let's talk about the first one. The answer to the question of how to plant cucumbers in open ground is important, both for beginners and experienced farmers. Naturally, the time when planting is an important factor.

.

Many believe that the need to plant, the sooner, the better. This is a wrong decision, because the cucumber is a thermophilic plant. If it is planted in cold soil, when the earth has not yet warmed up to + 15 ° C, then it will certainly grow, but this one of the reasons for the large number of vapors - cucumbers will blossom, and there will be no ovaries or they will be very few.

Often farmers do not associate one with another - an early planting in unheated soil with a huge number of emptiness or a small crop.

It is advised to plant cucumbers in well-warmed soil.

In the Kuban this is usually the timeframe, starting from the last decade of April. Of course, we have spring can also be lingering, cold, rainy - then the timing of cucumber planting shifts, sometimes even for 1 weeks, but, preferably, no later than May 5-7.

The best harvest, of course, we get with the optimal time for cucumbers - the end of April. You want to get your cucumbers too early, too.

The choice of a landing site should also be approached responsibly. It can not be anyhow. Cucumbers do not care where and how you will plant them. They are very important crop rotation, fruitful. Try not to plant them where last season grew cucumbers, pumpkins, zucchini. The best precursors of cucumbers (in descending order) are tomatoes, peppers, onions, cabbage.

Like any plant, cucumbers love a fertile, friable, not acidic soil. Perhaps, more than other plants, cucumbers like organic fertilizers. It is believed that the best organic fertilizer for all garden plants is humus, but from the introduction of pure manure, seeds or plants can burn. So it is so, but it is for cucumbers that manure is the most preferred organic fertilizer. If you have the opportunity to get this valuable fertilizer, then, without hesitation, add manure to the cucumber bed. This is not only food, but manure, getting into the soil, allocates certain chemicals that are very fond of cucumbers. This positive reaction of cucumbers to the introduction of fresh manure during planting is noticed by many. I have read about this several times in various editions for gardeners.

Therefore, before planting, I scoop or a small spatula I tear out a trench 10-15 cm deep on the cucumber bed to make room for the addition of organic material. Fresh cow dung I specially store for cucumbers. I spread it into a cucumber trench, without crushing - what pieces are there, large or small, such and lay out. Evenly, of course, it does not work out, but it does not matter.

Another point, to the question of how to plant cucumbers in the open ground. Seeds of cucumbers are best planted in sunny weather during the day, and seedlings - in the evening, when the sun does not bake.

After the manure was spread out over the beds, we fill it with a thin layer of soil. The trench will become smaller, but it should not be leveled with the edges. Then the grooves are well watered. It is necessary to shed very abundantly, maybe even for a few tricks, since the moisture must be in the soil for a long time - this is necessary for the seeds or seedlings, if you plant the seedlings.

Then it is necessary to spread the seeds of cucumbers along the spilled trench. We arrange one seed at a sufficiently large distance from each other - 25-30 cm.

The seeds are laid down by the soil and lightly patted with the palm above, so that the seeds are tightly pressed from all sides to the ground.

Once again, the planted seeds are planted, while the contours of the trench are guessed. And for the last time, the entire bed was watered with water from the watering can to soak all the soil in the garden.

.
..

Now the garden with cucumbers should be sheltered, since they like high humidity. It is possible to cover the bed before the emergence of the film with a film directly over the ground, and you can set the arcs and pull the film on them.

I draw your attention to the fact that before the emergence of seedlings the bed must be covered with a film, and not a covering material. Due to the fact that the bed was abundantly watered, condensation forms immediately on the film. More cucumbers should not be watered - wait until the shoots appear. Through the film, moisture will not evaporate, and humidity will be sufficient for the comfortable development of plants. That is, the film is mandatory, otherwise you will not be able to achieve the desired microclimate for cucumbers.

After emergence, the film is periodically opened, especially in hot weather, to prevent thermal burns. But completely the film is removed only after the appearance of flowers on the seedlings.
