Repair of carob coffee makers can be done with your own hands, for this it is enough to have a set of screwdrivers. They are used to parse the horn and further cleaning. You can use different means - both special formulations and improvised ones, for example, vinegar and soda. Step-by-step instructions and a description of the methods can be found in this article.

Signs of need for repair

Cleaning the horn is carried out regularly, especially in cases where the coffee maker is used every day. You can determine the need for cleaning by a number of signs:

• foreign odors;
• unpleasant aftertaste (coffee is less saturated, with an extraneous aroma);
• the drink began to cook longer;
• a white precipitate is visible in the liquid;
• extra sounds appeared during operation;
• trickles are smaller, so the cup takes longer to fill;
• electricity consumption increases.

Thus, if the device began to work worse, extraneous smells and tastes appeared, it is necessary to disassemble the horn and clean it. How to do this is described in the next section.

Repair Instructions

To disassemble the horn, proceed as follows:

1. Loosen the screw with a screwdriver.
2. Likewise - on the reverse side.
3. Raise and remove the mesh with a screwdriver or a metal knitting needle.
4. Squeeze out the metal sleeve, as shown in the photo.
5. To do this, the horn is turned over and pressed with a flat screwdriver from the back (exactly in the center) until the sleeve flies off.
6. Squeeze out the black plastic base by pressing several times with a screwdriver through all 3 holes.
7. The result will be like this.
8. Then gently pry with a screwdriver and separate the upper part.
9. Disassemble the part into 2 parts.
10.  Rinse and clean all parts, then assemble them in reverse order.

How to clean the horn

Usually, the horns are cleaned with special products that are sold in special salons or household appliance stores. This, for example, "Topperr" or "Top House". Instructions for use are quite simple:

1. The agent is placed in the main container, the required volume of water is poured, indicated in the instructions.
2. Turn on the appliance in the normal mode for brewing coffee (the grains are not laid).
3. Prepare at least 2 cups of "coffee".
4. Then the coffee maker is again filled with water and detergent and the second cycle is carried out.
5. After that, pure water is distilled.
6. Then several cups of coffee are prepared - 3-4, they are completely drained, after which you can start brewing again in the usual way.

Along with special tools, you can also use improvised compositions, for example:

• bleach;
• baking soda;
• vinegar 9%;
• citric acid;
• "Coca Cola";
• a tool to clean the sink.

Now it’s clear how to disassemble the coffee maker horn, and how exactly to clean it. This procedure is repeated as necessary, as soon as signs of contamination appear. The cleaning agent must be washed out very carefully, without rushing to drink coffee. It is better to drain 3-4 cups and only then start cooking in the same mode.
