Plant preparation and planting
In the natural environment of growth, the dicenter is distributed on the slopes of the Far East, covered with rubble. She does not like an unnecessarily dry climate. On the American continent, there are less demanding climatic conditions.
The Dicenter, like many garden flowers, is planted before the onset of cold weather and after melting snow. Before you plant a dicentre in spring or autumn, you must first prepare the soil. For each square meter add 5 kg of humus and dig up. It is mandatory to enrich the soil with mineral fertilizers diluted in water (20 g for every 10 liters).
Heavy soils require lime.
The size of the pit depends on the rhizome, usually half a meter. To water near the roots of the "broken heart" is not going to, and they did not start to rot, drainage is necessary. To do this, clay is poured into the groove, ash or sand is mixed with soil. As the dicenter forms large bushes, the intervals between the specimens should be one meter.
Cultivation of open-air centers
Watering. Flower roots densenters are very sensitive to excess moisture and are easily affected by rot. You can not transplant the plant. In the dry summer, it is abundantly irrigated, so that the bush does not perish.
Fertilizer. If the dicenter is not regularly fed, then lush flowering from it will not be achieved. Without fertilizers, this plant can not exist and will degenerate every year more and more. Good results will provide spring top dressing with humus or superphosphate. In the flowering period, fertilizers from nitrogen compounds are applied to the bush, then the plant will be longer to delight in branches with "broken hearts". In summer and especially in autumn, humus or manure should be used.
The dicenter can grow in one place for about 5 years. After this, too overgrown roots begin to gradually die off, the plant gives less and less flowers, and then completely stops forming flower stalks.
Preparation for winter. Another way to ensure beautiful flowering dicentres - prune it for the winter. Carry out this procedure after the plant fades, and the foliage turns yellow. All wilted flowers on the plant must be removed. At the end of autumn, the stems are also cut off, leaving only 5 cm above the ground. This approach will ensure a long life for the plant and good flowering every year. In areas with severe winters hemp sprinkled with peat on their entire height. You can use the branches of berg. If the climate does not differ extreme frosts, then it is better not to cover the dicentre. She will calmly overwinter and so. On the contrary, too much warming of the roots for the winter can lead to what they are forbidding.
Reproduction of the "broken heart"
Most often propagate the dicentre with the help of cuttings or by dividing the bush. The third way, which is used extremely rarely - grains.
This is not the most efficient method, so it's best not to use it. If there are no other options, the seeds of the centers are sown in February or March. You can sow in autumn. At optimal temperature of + 18 ° C shoots appear after 3-4 weeks. Young plants dive, shelter for the winter foliage. Instances of dicenters, which are grown from seeds, begin to bloom for the third year.
Division of the bush
For this, the rhizome is carefully divided with a knife into several parts so that there are at least three shoots on them. Each segment is planted in a permanent place allocated for it.
To bush dentsentry turned out to be the most magnificent, you can drop several segments into one pit.
This is one of the most popular ways of propagating a flower "broken heart". To do this, select young shoots, about 12 cm long. They are planted at a depth of 10 cm. The soil with the cut is better covered with a film or jar, this will ensure the preservation of moisture.
They can be germinated in a greenhouse, especially if spring or autumn is rather cold. The sprouts appear about a month later, and the roots are formed. Ideal for rooting sprouts dentsentry are peat containers. Using them, the root system is not injured during transplantation. A year after the rooting of the cuttings, the centers are planted in open ground.
