The slow cooker is a very useful and multifunctional kitchen appliance. For several years now I have been actively using it for cooking various dishes. And today I want to tell you how to care for the device and how to wash the multicooker.
General rules for washing multicookers
First use
After purchasing a new device, you need to wash it to remove dust and factory smell. The first use of the multicooker, in fact, is its first wash.
For this, it is better to use the “Steaming” program:
- pour a glass of water into the bowl;
- add a few lemon slices there;
- turn on for 15 minutes;
- At the end of the procedure, wipe the multicooker dry.
In the future, before cleaning the slow cooker, it will have to disassemble.
How to disassemble the multicooker:
- Disconnectdevice from the electrical network.
- Givethe machine is completely cool.
- Free the multicooker from all removable parts.that will wash. Typically, this is:
- bowl;
- steam valve;
- moisture collector.
The cover and plate of the heater are not removed for all models, so I will tell about their washing separately.
How to choose a detergent
Multicooker - the device is capricious, and you can not wash it with aggressive detergents. Avoid abrasive powders and pastes, as well as hard and metal sponges.
To thoroughly clean the multicooker inside and out, it is better to choose such means:

My Multicooker
Is it possible to wash the multicooker inside? Yes, it is possible - even necessary!
Zone 1. Bowl
In all models of the multi-cooker the bowl is removable, and it is the easiest to clean it. In fact, this is the same pan, only with a special non-stick coating. It is because of him that it is undesirable to wash the bowl in the dishwasher - it is better to do it manually.
Use dishwashing detergent and do not forget to wipe the bowl dry, especially from the outside - it comes into contact with the heating elements.
If you want to clean the multicooker bowl of burnt food and do not use rude cleaning methods. Fill the bowl with hot water and leave for some time. After soaking the dirt is easy to clean.
Zone 2. Bottom
The bottom of the multicooker, although not directly involved in the process of cooking, often suffers from sprays, food particles and moisture. Therefore, after each use it must be wiped with wet wipes.
If serious contamination - use a sponge dipped in warm water. Upon completion - do not forget to thoroughly wipe the bottom of the multicooker.
Zone 3. A heating element
The heating element in the multicooker is also not immune from pollution. But you need to wash it carefully.
Best for this purpose suitable baking soda. Simply soak the kitchen napkin in the soda, wipe the heater and remove the residual product with a damp cloth. And, of course, dry it out!
Zone 4. Cap
A cover - a detail, difficult for washing. In some models it can be removable, in others - not:
- Removable cover. To clean the cover of grease and traces of cooked dishes, simply remove it, wash with dishwashing detergent and wipe dry.
- Fixed cover Here you have to tinker a bit:
- First we use the steam mode - you need to pour a glass of water into the bowl;
- Add a little lemon juice and turn on the Steaming mode for 15 minutes;
- After the readiness signal, open the slow cooker and wipe the cover clean with a microfiber cloth;
- Next, the multicooker case should be placed in a tight cellophane bag, leaving the lid outside;
- Now you can flip the device and clean the multicooker lid inside;
- Use dishwashing detergent, then rinse off the foam and wipe the cap dry.
Ensure that during washing the water does not fall into the body and on the opening unit.
Zone 5. Moisture collector
The moisture collector is designed to collect the moisture that appears during the operation of the device. It must be freed from the liquid after each use of the multicooker.
In this case, simply rinse the container with running water. More serious contamination can be removed with detergent.
Zone 6. Steam valve
The steam valve helps to release steam during cooking. As a rule, it remains clean, and it is enough to wipe it with a napkin or rinse with warm water.
If the valve openings are blocked, it should be cleaned with detergent. Use a cotton swab or a toothpick to clean hard-to-reach areas.
Zone 7. Housing
Multicooker housing during cooking usually does not get dirty, but nevertheless, care for it does not hurt. Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth or microfiber cloth.
Make sure that the case does not get water - it is detrimental to the chip and can cause damage to the device.
If you notice water in the case, de-energize the device and gently shake it in different directions. Dry the body with a dry towel. You can use a hair dryer, turning it on at a moderate power.
After the done actions, the device can not be turned on at least a day!
