Bilberry Properties
Bilberry has strong coloring properties, so it is sometimes used as a natural dye. Silk she makes bright purple, flax blue, and white wool gives a light purple hue. Coloring occurs due to anthocyanins - pigment substances that make up the berries.
But it is not always that the clothes are stained with blueberry juice intentionally. In most cases, the juice of the berry falls on the fabric by chance and causes a desire to wash it. This does not mean that blueberries should be abandoned. Berry is very useful because it contains fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, manganese and other trace elements. You just need to learn how to remove stains from clothes.
Boiling Water Treatment
This method works only with fresh stains. As soon as you notice that dark blueberry juice has appeared on the clothes, proceed to its removal. It is necessary to boil water, stretch the fabric with a blueberry stain and pour boiling water over it. It is inconvenient and dangerous to perform this procedure alone, so you need to invite an assistant. One person must stretch the fabric, and the other pour boiling water in a thin stream.
They say that there is no trace of blueberries. In the same way remove any fruit and wine stains on clothes. The method with boiling water can not be applied to colored things, which strongly shed.
Vinegar and Lemon Juice
Acid can act as a solvent for blueberry juice. Use the products that are in the kitchen of any hostess. Moisten a sponge in vinegar or lemon juice and wipe the stain. You can wet the spot with vinegar and leave for 15-20 minutes, then wash the clothes and rinse. It is even better to rub the polluted fabric with half a lemon so that the juice is better absorbed and act faster.
To remove traces of blueberries from clothes, apply a wash with vinegar. To do this, take:
- 1 large spoon of laundry detergent;
- 1 large spoonful of vinegar;
- 1 liter of cool water.
All components are mixed, in a solution soaked blueberry-soaked clothes. She should be soaked for about an hour. Then the stain is scrubbed, the clothes are rinsed.
Sour milk
Like acid, sour milk acts on blueberries. You can use skimmed kefir, yogurt or whey. Wet a spot of one of the listed liquids and leave to soak for at least half an hour. After this, rinse the clothes and wash them.
Ammonia and Salt
Old traces of blueberries can be washed off with ammonia and salt. To do this, the stain is moistened in cold water, make a mixture of ammonia solution and salt and lightly rub it into the fabric. The mixture should act 20-30 minutes. It can be used for any kind of fabric, since ammonia and salt do not harm the fibers and do not wash the design. Leaves only traces of blueberries. After processing the fabric clothes must be washed.
Use of special tools
If you do not want to use folk remedies, then you need to buy a stain remover and bring blueberries with it. It does not make sense to list all stain removers, since they are sold in a large assortment, differing in volume, price, and effectiveness. White cotton can be bleached with plain whiteness or bleach. There are stain removers Frau Schmidt, Vanish, Amway, Antipyatin and others.
When choosing a stain remover, pay attention to what types of fabric it is designed for and what types of stain it displays. If you decide to use some kind of professional remedy, do not use home-made products before, as the substances can neutralize each other’s effects. Usually, after some effort, blueberry stains are washed off.
