Renting horizontal blinds
Horizontal blinds are popular in residential apartments. Small in size metal horizontal lamellas are hung on special brackets with “swallow” fastening. Detaching them is not difficult. It is only necessary to push the front and back walls of the uppermost strap with your fingers or a screwdriver and carefully remove it from the metal retainers.
If the blinds are fixed in another way, then you may need a screwdriver. With it, you can unscrew the bolts, after which you can remove the entire structure from the brackets. If the windows are large, then it will be difficult for one to cope, it is better to call an assistant.There are designs with caps or decorative covers on the sides. In this case, it is necessary to remove the cap, after which the slats can be freely removed from the window and washed.
To understand how to remove the blinds of any design, first inspect their upper part, examine the bracket. If the instruction remains, read it. When you disassemble and clean the strips, make sure that they are not entangled and twisted.
Detaching the vertical slats
Vertical slats are much easier to remove. All of them are hung on the eaves, in which there is a cap on the side. By removing this stub and pulling out the connecting chain, you can remove all the vertical bars one by one. Removal methods may differ slightly due to their particular design. Here is one of the options:
- open the blinds and turn them so the lamellas stand side by side;
- remove the chain and weights that are at the bottom;
- alternately disconnect the slats, roll up and send to be erased in the machine.

Roller blinds
Roller blinds were designed in such a way as not to cause maintenance problems. They can easily be removed and hung on the window, since they are often fixed without drilling frames and walls. If fixings are used, it is easy to understand how the curtain rests on them. Either the shaft to which the sheet is attached, or the entire structure with a decorative box is detached.
If the construction is not collapsible and you need to unscrew the screws, then begin to unscrew from the lower bolts and only then go to the upper ones. This will prevent the collapse and deformation of the mounting system.
There are blinds that are attached using special keys or stick to velcro. It is easiest to disconnect them. Whatever the fastening system, remember how you remove the curtains, since you still have to hang them in the reverse order.
