Regular top dressings play an important role throughout the life cycle of garden trees, including pears. Even if it grows on fertile soil, over time, the tree will pick up a supply of nutrients from the ground. In order to prevent the complete depletion of the soil and to provide the pear with a full range of necessary elements, it should be fertilized.
Despite the fact that the main dressings are made in the fall, in the spring, the tree also needs to be fed. Fertilization in early spring helps the pear to recover from wintering and prepare for fruiting.
Stages of spring feeding pear
How to feed a pear in the spring to stimulate active growth and bookmark more ovaries? It depends on the period of development of the tree to fertilize. On this basis, spring feeding of pears takes place in several stages:
- in early spring before bud break;
- during the flowering of pears;
- after flowering.
Early feeding of pears 
At the beginning of spring, when the air temperature reaches stable values and the buds begin to swell, the trees need to be fertilized with fertilizers containing nitrogen. You can use one of the following compositions to choose from:
- Nitrate solution. Use for root dressings, spreading 2 tbsp.lsaltpeter in a bucket of water.
- Infusion based on bird droppings. For irrigation in the near-stem circle on one tree, dilute 0.5 kg of litter in 10 liters of warm water and let it stand for a day.
- Urea Solution. Add 50 g of the drug to a bucket of water.
In order not to provoke an overdose of fertilizers and burns, use one type of fertilizer.
Fertilizing during the flowering of pears 
When the trees start to bloom, gently loosen the soil around the trunk about 60 cm in diameter. During this period, you need at least 40 liters of nutrient solution for one tree. Fertilizing with a solution of urea( 300 g per bucket of water) or superphosphate( 100 g for the same amount of water) has proven itself well. You can also use organic matter, such as 5 liters of diluted cow manure per 10 liters of water.
Experienced gardeners recommend making grooves( 50 cm deep) along the perimeter of the tree and pouring fertilizer in them. This does not apply to colonic pear varieties that have a superficial root system.
Top dressing in the period of fruit set 
When a pear has faded, it is necessary to apply fertilizers aimed at the development and ripening of fruits. For this, it is good to use nitroammofosku: 50 g of the drug per 10 liters of waterUnder a single tree to make at least 3 buckets of the solution.
So that the ovary is not crushed and crumbled, the pear can be fed with phosphorus-potassium mixtures.
In the cold spring, it is useful to carry out foliar feeding by spraying pears, since under such weather conditions the nutrients by the root system are poorly absorbed. So, one and a half weeks after the end of flowering process the branches with 1% urea solution. If necessary, repeat the treatment after two weeks.
For protection against insects, spray pears with a solution of ash.
