We now describe the process of replacing the bearing in the electric motor of the Philips food processor, model U - 8830. You will find that the modifications of this motor are widely used in meat grinders and other blenders. Differences mainly relate to the shaft. In the case in question, a gear wheel of conical shape is mounted on one side, and the drive for knives with rotation restriction is mounted on the opposite side. - . Both ends of the shaft are occupied by drive gears, a narrow gray and conical shape and white, wide, wheel-shaped.

frame. From the collector, a wide drive wheel sits on the left-handed thread. To remove, grip the end of a long gray gear of an electric motor shaft in a vice. Then start turning the wheel counterclockwise, as viewed from the side of the collector. Caution! The nut is brass and breaks easily.
Wide Wheel Drive Now get rid of the long gray gear. Easier to do with a bearing puller. It is necessary to pry the thread with the hooks, then slightly tighten it towards you. The detail is simply removed. It is permissible to try using a small plumbing key( see photo).Found that his lips are placed between the bed and the thickening of the gear. It will be necessary to set the grip width with a nut and carefully take up the thread at the base. Do not squeeze too hard so as not to damage the plastic.
Carefully start turning the gear against and in a clockwise direction while simultaneously removing it from the shaft. After a time, the gap between the bed will increase, then the part will fall off the shaft of the electric motor. Partial success.
When the ends of the shaft are free, let's do some brushes. Brass takes the middle place on the strength of the fold between aluminum and copper, we act carefully. Replacing the bearing on the shaft of the electric motor
We believe that a standard tool( puller) is suitable for removal. If this is not the case, you will have to apply the method advised by motorists( see photo):
- A standard-sized adjustable wrench of decent size is taken so that it freely enters the gap between the bed and the shaft.
- The lip is fixed. The end of the shaft is placed on the board, then with light strokes the bearing goes down.
The authors did not have an adjustable spanner suitable for the procedure. The farm found too big, lips too tight to the stator windings of the electric motor, tearing off the lacquer insulation. Without thinking twice, they found a block of concrete of a small strength mark. Then the legs of the gas plumbing key captured the bed with the bearing, as shown in the photo, put a piece of board on top of the shaft, made several blows. From this end, it is possible not to lay a piece of wood, there is no thread on the edge, but only a chamfer on the fixing ring.
The bearing is firmly pressed into the frame. As can be seen from the photographs, it was covered with a lid, which, in the process of dismantling, managed to slightly deform and now barely rests on four rivets. The element is clearly removed and thrown away( or mounted on new rivets).The electric motor shaft bearing is knocked out of the groove in an accessible way; it is permissible to use a standard puller. Try using a thick roundwood. On our electric motor bearing is normal, he does not threaten the listed procedures.
Please note that the niche for pressing is too big. Its height exceeds the width of the bearing. We believe this is due to the multipurpose purpose of the U - 8830 electric motor. If the motor bearing test is normal, put the cap on the rivets, or leave and try to put it on the shaft.
The method shown in the photo is appropriate. The handles of the gas plumbing key are put on the brick marked above, forming a grip. The shaft from the side of the collector is provided with left-hand thread, which is protected by a block of wood( not shown in the photo).A few blows, and the detail will fall into place, but! The shaft on the bearing side has no restrictive chamfer, it is easy to catch up to the stop and damage the lacquer insulation of the rotor winding of the electric motor with the need to be replaced or rewound.
To avoid laying in the right place a piece of soft rubber. Hard( for rugs) is fundamentally unsuitable. Or control the depth of clogging in your own way. If a bust was found, we take up the gas key again and repeat the procedure for dismantling the frame of the electric motor, but not completely, but a couple of millimeters. Having achieved success, we begin the assembly of the shaft. We recommend first to assemble the frame, then fix the brushes, put on the wheel with left-hand thread. We remind you that it is pressed onto the shaft of the electric motor, and the clamping ring in our set was not originally present. At this assembly is considered complete. To top it off, let us indicate the reason for using the closing plate: without it, it will be necessary to use sophisticated means to adjust the position of the bed. Bearing tighter sitting on the shaft than in its niche, when you try to slightly increase the distance to the collector coils begins to slip. Difficult to set the correct distance.
